I understand everyones concern.. But being that everyone knows rod bearings are prone to failure, everyone who doesnt do the preventative maintainance because they believe it only happens to 1% of us are complete morons. When you become that 1%, you will be very pissed. People also need to factor in the e60 m5 s85 failures too.. Is it not very odd the this generation of bmw high revving engines are having the same failures. unusual bearing wear and spun bearings. Its also odd that bmw has updated a major part in an engine, but no recalls were done. I may be wrong buy didnt they try to hide any trace of a updated part by deleting the old part numbers. No one has the balls (even me) to start up a class action lawsuit and start making bmw have a recall in relation to updating the rod bearing or footing the bill for past failures..

For example the e46 m3 subframe failures. It took bmw almost 10 years and a class action lawsuit to finally admit the subframes were a problem. They finally started footing old bills, checking subframes for cracks and reinforcing anyone who needed so. I happen to come in after the recall period so paid out of pocket any way. its funny how every body judges only by the number of failed engine which is not even correct . You are suppose to be judging by the amount of unusual bearing wear, which then results in a failed motor

So how bout you guys do a poll by the amount of people who had the bearings replaced. Out of those people how many had unusual bearing wear. Lets see if the percentage is still only 1%.. Same like the e46 m3, you didnt judge buy the amount of complete subframe failures. You judge by the amount of people who had cracks which will lead to subframe failure.

I bet if someone brought this to a lawyer, with all the evidence of bearing wear, you guys would have a lawsuit.. When it comes to my time, i will try to find the people who handled the subframe lawsuit. In the mean time people need to keep posting failures and bearing wear with evidence so we can have a fighting chance
