Check your fuel pressure first. The car primes the fuel system with an unlock signal, opening a door or trunk. Leave your hood open with the pressure gauge on it and check the pressure before disturbing the car after it has sat overnight or however long it takes to reproduce the issue. A good rule of thumb is that the fuel system should hold about 75% of its target pressure overnight.
Does the car start and run smooth after the extended cranking time or does it run rough? The 2 options for where the fuel pressure is bleeding off are either back into the tank or leaking injectors. Rough running would typically indicate leaking injectors.
