I wish it was a simple as taking an oil analysis and showing it BWM when the levels are high, but BMW doesn't car until it's blown. And if you're out of warranty, better go get a lawyer.
With so much focus on bearing wear it is hard to know just how much of an issue it is.
I renew my BMW warranty every year and if the engine lets go then they can fix it.
I'm not sure I would want to keep my car long term without a warranty when it is so pricey to replace the engine and the DCT.
