It is only "inevitable" when people choose to not extend some simple courtesy to a person who has suffered an unfortunate incident.
This courtesy is quietly mentored by almost every organization I drive with from CT to SC. If some organizations do not promote it - that is unfortunate.
There are organizations that do all manner of things (or not) at DEs. That doesn't make it right.
If someone choose to ignore extending that simple courtesy to another driver - its not as if you are breaking any law. But the people we meet at these events are people we see over and over and over again through the years. Many become friends. Refusing a courtesy to a guy who just lost his car seems a sad commentary to me.
People are free to act however their values direct them.
