The owner is a very knowledgeable enthusiast in our area. I've known him for three years. He never put anything less than 91 octane in the car. End of story.

By now you already know that your low octane hypothesis doesn't match any of the bearing photos. You can thank your fellow UK buddy for calling BS on that. To me that says you're here for some other purpose than learn or share.
