It makes for an accounting nightmare.
I'm going to go into my spiel about how 2 days are much better than 1 in terms of learning. Especially for new tracks. Typically, the biggest "leap" in learning a new track happens when you have the opportunity to "wipe" everything you learned about said track on the 2nd day. Back to back days at an event gives you the maximum reinforcement of muscle and mental memory of the track, by allowing you to "reset" overnight. Typically, for our participants, the second to last session on Sunday is usually the FASTEST session of the weekend because you're able to rebuilt on top of the fundamentals you learn on a Saturday. Two day events also give you the opportunity to experience lines taught by different instructors.
For accounting and logistical reasons it's a nightmare to split days. In the past when we have allowed for 1 day sign-ups at ACS due to exorbitant price of track rental, we typically end up with an uneven roster, and we either have instructor working their sses off on Saturday, or several with 1 or no students on Sunday. I have had a few students inquire about the possibility of signing up an doing 1 day only, and I have strongly discouraged them from doing so.
Having said all that. If the 1-day option is the difference between signing up and going home, I would rather see participants going to the track. So the option I give to you is: If it's pricing that you're concerned with, we will not be offering a "cheaper" 1 day option. If you simply can't make a 2 day weekend due to work or other obligations, we will consider it on a case by case basis. You can sign up at the full price, drive the one day you can make it, and we will issue a moderate credit towards a future event.
