I have to say, even though I run Redline lubricants (in a much lower viscosity than the 10w-60 sludge, BMW recommends), I think the 0W-40 M1 is probably the best recommendation for the vast majority of M3 driving conditions.
Really, How many people who have at least a mediocre level of education on lubricants have chimed in on this forum (and others) about BMW's choice to recommend a 10W-60 oil for these engines? But let's be realistic here, BMW is not going to recommend an oil that would harm the engine. It's just that there are obviously better choices out there for the majority of M3s.
