I can't comment on mixing pads, but I will say that I did ST40's on the front and run OE calipers on the back and didn't experience anything other than awesome stopping power. And as for track wheels/tires I didn't feel like the ST40's overwhelmed my street tires (Pilot Super Sports) so don't feel like you have to run out and buy track wheels/tires because of the brakes.
