I don't think anyone would say it sounds bad at all. It just sounds more american muscle than euro high revving v8. Which some like and some do not like. To me sounding like a mustang is not appealing.
Drone is another issue and have lived with drone in the past and would never go back to drone!
I can't believe how happy I am with the stock rear and a catless xpipe which truly has zero drone and a great sound. Off topic though
