I don't see how paint is going to crack any easier than the the clear and/or resin on the carbon fiber. CF doesn't "look better anyway", not IMO at least. It has a brownish/yellow color and is woven like a burlap sack. Plus, the car comes from the factory with gloss black accents, exposed CF doesn't match that IMO.
If I could get a fiberglass version of every part, I would. Instead, I have to paint the CF one. I don't care about strength or weight because you're kidding yourself if you think a CF lip or diffuser is any stronger or lighter than the FRP version.
