These are not areas where sunscreen would rub off. I have the Sensafin vinyl seats not leather. I have been using Dr Beasley’s to clean and condition the soft and hard vinyl areas. I have the Sensafin vinyl seats not leather. I have been using Dr Beasley’s to clean and condition the soft and hard vinyl areas. At first when I detail it looks good but within a day or 2 the white spots come back.

I already asked Dr Beasley’s about it and they said it would not be from the product.

I would like to hear any recommendations for how to remove the spots and favorite conditioners for this type of interior.

I bought this '24 840 a few weeks ago. The original owner treated it like gold - the screen protectors were still on the two displays, and the doorsills still had the blue film on them. It was/immaculate... except for the cupholder door. I can imagine the guy's horror when he "cleaned" it and left these scratches.

If I had to guess, that large scratch in the middle was first, the hazy scratches came from an attempt to fix the scratch.

I used 1" pads on an SPTA RO micro-polisher. Yep, it's cheap, but I love that thing. My 6" Flex just wasn't gonna fit ;-)

Note: Just like using a 6" machine on exterior paint, I really used only the weight of that tiny polisher. Piano Black is SOFT. Go easy!
  • First pass - 3D Speed on a red (soft finishing) pad, a couple passes, wiped with a mf... no change. None.
  • Next pass - 3D Speed on an orange (light correcting) pad. The lighter scratches were mostly gone. Progress. Sort of. But made that one big scratch kinda pop.
  • Next pass - Griot's Correcting Cream on an orange pad. I took it even easier here - one light pass and a wipe to assess, then did it again.
The three pics don't align with the three bullets. Just before, during (all taped and after one of the passes with the polisher), and after. I really think I spent more time taping than polishing.

It's always been garaged but we're 180K and 7 years into it.

What next? I know ceramic doesn't last forever and it still looks good, but...I'm sure it could look better. Can I put some coats of my ever loving Zaino to brighten it up a bit?

Since it's that old with that many miles, it's living on borrowed time in our garage. I love it, but I won't hesitate to put it out to pasture at the first sign of a medium/major issue. So I'm not having it professionally detailed but I don't mind spending a few hours in the garage with it on my own. The other day a CEL came on and when I went to read the codes I got the following; 193001 - Fuel Level Sensor, Left, electrical: Short circuit to B+ 804951 - Left Fuel Level Sensor: Short Circuit to B+ or line disconnection ... Not sure this is needed but I have a 2016 X5 50i M Sport.

The other day a CEL came on and when I went to read the codes I got the following;

193001 - Fuel Level Sensor, Left, electrical: Short circuit to B+

804951 - Left Fuel Level Sensor: Short Circuit to B+ or line disconnection

E12C01 - Left Fuel Level Sensor: Short Circuit to B+


I went into the tank menu option and saw that my LFLS was reading at around 6500 Ohms while my right one was reading around 240 ohms.

So far, my fuel gauge still works as it should but I haven’t dropped below half a tank yet. No noticeable issues besides the codes as far as I can tell. I cleared them with ISTA and they immediately came back so I think there may be a real problem.

I plan on maybe taking a look to see if anything has physically worked its way out as far as connectors go but if I’m not mistaken I believe this sensor is inside the tank and a part of it somehow? I wanted to see if anyone else has had this issue and fixed it.
