With how good DD performance SUVs have gotten, I'm finding I'm less interested in taking out my M3 a lot less than I used to. At the same time, the M3 is very well setup but I feel like it wants to be driven fast to get the most out of it. I'm finding myself more interested in something closer to a fun cruiser, so am looking at things like a Z4 Handschalter. I will be sad to see it go and I'm not in a hurry to sell, but it does feel like it's time.

I picked this car up in August 2019 with ~38k miles on the odometer as a replacement for my 2008 E92 that got destroyed by an oblivious driver. I am the third owner of the vehicle, despite what the Carfax/Autocheck may say. I have the receipts for the car since it was originally delivered to the 1st owner in Anchorage (kind of weird, I know). The second owner moved around to a few different states before settling in the CA Bay Area, which is what I believe freaked out of the VIN checkers. I put around 2-3k miles on it every year, so the mileage has increased slowly.

Since getting the car, I haven't really had many mechanical issues with it. I replaced the rod bearings with BE bearings in February 2021 at 43k miles. Original bearings were in shockingly good shape, so I hope that means good things for the mains, as well. Throttle actuators were replaced with the upgraded units from what was then M Power Motorsports in August 2022 (46k miles) while the supercharger was being installed. I do the oil change annually since I'm only doing up to ~3k miles a year. The last notable repair was to replace the rear axles, as the boots were being eaten by the Hotchkis sway bars. This was solved with custom extended length SPL links. The car got a fresh corner balance alignment earlier this year as it got messed up trying to resolve that issue. I'll copy the specs below; note the weight includes 220 lbs for my fat butt. The power sunshade does squeak/rattle a bit over bumps. I had plans to delete it but just never picked up a spare parcel shelf. The driver seat is wearing a bit. I have some Colourlock paint that matches the leather, but it hasn't bonded strong enough to not resist Leatherique applications. I am noticing some of the interior rubberized plastics starting to get slightly tacky. Over the past few years, the car has been worked on either by myself or by my local race shop, AR Motorsports.

The approach I took with my modding choices was to approximate something like a GT3 Touring. The chassis has been stiffened up but with decisions made to minimize NVH impacts (such as using OEM bushings diff bushings while overhauling the rear subframe). I also wanted to simplify to rebuildable items where possible since parts are becoming more limited. I like to think I've accomplished what I set out to. My next steps were brake overhaul and customizing the interior. At the opposite end, you could basically have very a good club sport setup with more aggressive springs and tires. Note, the GC race camber plates were recommended over the street variation by my shop, since they've had issues with the street variant. I should also mention that some cuts were made in the trunk carpeting to provide access to the rear shock adjusters.

Regarding the wrap, I actually had a video walkaround before dropping it off for the wrap to give an idea of the paint condition. Looking back at it, the images during the wrap process give a better idea of the paint condition, so I will refer to that here: . The car had full front PPF installed by the original owner which stayed through the second owner. I had a shop pull it off when I got it and cleaned up the paint before the wrap. It does seem like the front bumper had been repainted at some point (which was not captured in my documents), some of which pulled up on the top of the front lip when the PPF was removed. I had a local shop repair the lip a few months before the wrap was done. The wrap is a liquid wrap with effectively something like plast-dip as the undercoat with automotive clear to replicate San Marino blue. This was done in October 2020 with more details. The CF roof and spoiler were covered with a clear version of this wrap for additional protection. It is removable just like a normal wrap, though the condition is good enough that I'd only be willing to remove it for a very serious buyer upon request. Tons of parts; I will absolutely miss some of my collection here. I of course have the factory primary cats, which can readily be swapped in since they were V-banded. Probably worth having some fresh crush gaskets and header studs + nuts if you wanted to do that. I have the original intake and airbox that were removed for the supercharger. A few of the older floor mats (which were replaced with new OEM mats a few years ago). Original EDC module is sitting on the shelf. My custom lift bars that let you easily lift the car with a jack on each side. I also have a second set of wheels (Apex EC-7, Anthracite, 18x10, 18x10.5 with ~4 year old PS4S) that I was going to use as a set for all-seasons. I also have a Mr12Volt sitting around that I just did not get around to installing. Happy to include all of these in the sale.

Condition
The Silverstone exterior is in excellent condition and still presents beautifully. The Buff leather interior shows normal wear consistent with an 18-year-old driver's car but remains clean, comfortable, and original.

The engine pulls hard throughout the rev range, starts easily, idles smoothly, and has never exhibited rod knock or other symptoms associated with rod bearing failure. It does not smoke and has normal oil consumption for an S65. While I have not performed a compression or leak-down test, the engine has consistently performed flawlessly during my ownership.

Maintenance
This car has been maintained rather than simply repaired. I have complete maintenance and service records, providing the next owner with a comprehensive history of the vehicle.

The car does not have any issues, no CEL, and zero faults across all modules (checked with Foxwell scanner). However, there are some cosmetic flaws: a 2 inch scratch on hood near grill, front bumper rock chips, and a knick in rear wheel spoke (see pics).

The car is accident-free, but CarFax shows a "Minor Damage Reported" entry to the front-end in August 2014 with the 2nd owner. Selling because I don't drive it much.
