Engine/Drivetrain Modifications:
This is a pretty rare car (about 2,500 units of the 2-door), only sold on the Italian market. It has the standard body of the 325i 2-door sedan, but features the S14 4cyl engine and close-ratio Getrag gearbox of the BMW M3. Displacement was reduced to 1,990 ccm. This was done due to a luxury tax in Italy for cars with more than 2,000ccm. <br />
The engine puts out 192 hp (DIN) at 6,900 rpm and 155 lb/ft of torque at 4,900 rpm. This is down slightly compared to the non-catalyst, 2.3-liter S14 used in the E30 M3 which is rated at 200 hp (DIN) at 6,750 and 176 lb/ft of torque at 4,750 rpm.
