Esteban's user avatarEsteban ASAP's user avatarASAP Can you try again please?

Thanks, Mani
Still failing with the error that Esteban posted above....
Tried to respond to a PM from ASAP's user avatarASAP; got the same error message.
Hey how many posts exactly do I need to enable pm?
I assume this is based on post reply count and not a option in the settings?

well i'm on 20 and i still cant
Finding it really weird that it's a different amount of posts for everyone, doesn't seem equal or logical hahah
Working on getting my number of posts in so I can PM:thumsup:
Sadly, I've been on this forum for over a year and have found it ridiculously helpful - all the info I've been gathering and using to improve my little 328d has been amazing. But of course I can't PM anyone since I have a whopping one post, so since this seems to be a pretty 'safe place' to post, I'm gonna drop some posts here and hope for the best moving forward. Strange days...
(is this where I wait for the flame posts explaining how I'm 'doing it wrong'?)

From what I read in a different bimmerpost car forum, it’s 5 verified post replies and 7 days after account creation
Working on my post for PM activation ✌🏻

Hi everyone,

I’ve just joined the community and I’m happy to be here. I noticed that I currently don't have permission to create new threads or send private messages.

Could you please let me know what the requirements are to be fully enabled? Is there a mandatory waiting period or a minimum number of posts I need to reach first?

Thanks for your help!

So there’s not an exact number of post you need?

Someone previously said 5 posts and wait for the 7 days after account is made
Never seen this in any other forum, but here we go, collecting post :)

Friendly tip - Junk posting to run up your post count will likely only get you tagged as a spammer and scammer. This site is a community, and all discussions should be in public.

As for never seeing it anywhere else, I am a member of a forum that members can't PM or even see that there's a classifieds section for 90 days after they join...with a minimum post count of 50 *quality* posts with at least one post per day over 25 days. Not surprisingly, they do not have a spammer/scammer problem.....
Is there a way to get the PM feature enabled that doesn’t require making a random number of posts? I’m trying to purchase an item from the classifieds and it’s quite difficult to exchange personal info with the seller aside from publicly posting it in the thread which has now led to scammers reaching out to my phone number.

The rule is in place to prevent people with no forum reputation from scamming members who actively contribute to the community. You have experienced first-hand why the rule is necessary to stop scammers.....
Hopefully the this helps for activation. 🦅

I understand the rule - however if you just want to buy something, it might not be helpful.

Every single scammer just wants to "buy" or "sell" something, and this site is an easy target for them because there's no buyer/seller reputation system like ebay et al utilize.....
