new e92 owner- Alpine white "build" thread

Just wanted a place to post updates for my new to me car! I haven't been active on forums in forever and hoping this thread can help me get some feedback from others!

A little background, I've owned near 100 vehicles and always find a reason to sell one to buy another. This is my 3rd M3. My first was a new 2015 F80 Manual "stripper" spec, and I recently sold my G80 to buy this E92.

45k miles
Alpine white - Fox Red interior

most recent owner installed carbon grills, carbon mirror caps, carbon front splitters. The Mperformance exhaust isnt on the car anymore :/
rod bearings done around 35k miles

upcoming plans :
-Get the paint cleaned up as there is some swirling , but overall the paint is in great shape for a 15 year old vehicle.
-Repair the 359 wheels - unsure if I will go with original silver or gloss black
- Install new front undertray and fix front left fender liner
- some type of exhaust system, stock is just too quiet. Any recommendations for something possibly valved?
- repair valve cover leaks , possibly upgrade to a billet cover? Any recommendations?

Clean build! I’ve got a similarly built white e92. I’m a big fan of silver 359Ms but you can’t go wrong with black or silver. Enjoy the car!

Congrats! Best color combo (bias, haha). There's a Meisterschaft exhaust in the FS section. Love mine, sounds amazing.

Ps. "Some parts specific to M3" is a bit of an understatement, believe min 70-80% of the components are M specific vs standard 3 series.

Seems your DCT shift lights are turned off. If you want them on, there's a setting in iDrive.

Exhaust looks stock but with aftermarket tips. Bummer the MPE is no longer on the car - those are crazy expensive nowadays to buy new, 3x what I paid 5 years ago.

I can definitely recommend an exhaust system for the car.

I have an active autowerke straight X-pipe on mine (you can get a sport cat one too). My axle back is a Attack Valved Exhaust (SS304) which I think was a custom thing some guy made 10 of out of his garage. Valvetronic makes a good complete system, that can also be fully titanium if you want. Valvetronic's new V2 one should have vacuum sealed valves instead of mechanical ones which are more reliable.

I cannot recommend a valved exhaust enough. Mine is quieter than stock when the valves are closed, while mine will make your ears bleed when you go through tunnels while open. I only have an open or closed setting for the valves since my car is supercharged and the extra-large pipes are nicer for it. I believe a lot of the valved systems can have a middle setting by opening only one side.

If you are up for it a supercharger is an awesome upgrade and, in my opinion, really simple and easy to live with. I've put 20k miles on it in less than 2 years.

Have the same paired with the active Autowerks catless x pipe. It does have a mild amount of smell when sitting at idle with the windows down but otherwise no problems. Screams on full throttle and liveable when just cruising around. It really just depends on how much throttle you give. I have it paired with the full eventuri system and it's the perfect balance between exhaust and induction
