I just found a map and realized there are 3 cameras right near me. They probably pick me up every day because of the routes I go and where they are installed.

Well , I couldn't agree more.

These almost invisible money-milking machines are often installed by private companies with the approval of the local mayor.
After the agreement that always is, the contract is then signed with the government for the installations and the activation of the ANPR network (with facial recognition)! and the Trajectory Control systems.
Through this private deal, the local mayor and his city also receive a percentage of the speeding fines I pay.
Sounds like a great deal for them. Everyone gets a piece of the (my)! cake...

A real pain in the A$$ is when the distance of the trajectory measurement is longer than 10 km.
Don't know if you know how a trajectory control works : It is how long in time you drive between point A and point B. At point A and point B , speed cameras are hidden and that can be anywhere..
Very often the speed limits change in the trajectory control like 25 times from 30 km/h to 50 km/h over a distance of only 10 km .
You actually have to drive like a mentally disturbed person to avoid being robbed.. And that gives me heart rhythm disorders (!)
They turn it into a maze just to catch you and rob you of your money.

Sometimes it takes months and even longer to activate a trajectory control system. And then suddenly it turns out that the system is activated, while the car drivers think it is not and they receive 20-30 fines in their mailbox at once.
Then we are talking about speeding fines of tens of thousands of Euros (!)

I am certain that this is being done intentionally, and I consider this the highest degree of being robbed (!)
What I do know is that I get robbed every single time because they say it is for our safety .

I was going to go into a long spiel about my take on the space since I'm in it but just deleted it.

This shit is just gonna continue happen until the plebs decide enough is enough.

Is this the one thing that unites the left and the right? How is it that we have these cameras but I have not met a single person that actually thinks they are a good idea?

Both sides if not all sides of governance and policing will be getting something, even if its just social license to say we caught "a" bad guy, or we stopped "an" unregistered car. Its nauseating what authorities are happy to spend on belittling the people who pay for their existence.

For every car enthusiast or civil libertarian who can see the carnage, there are a dozen or more drones happy to be cloned by the authoritarian figure keeping them safe. I really don't know why car manufacturers bothered to do anything around safety, authorities have completely ignored a post 2000 car is nothing like a 1920s car when many of the road rules were created. Still lower speeds, more cameras, and now trajectory is what is need to keep order and people safe. And they wonder why alcohol, drugs, and domestic violence keep climbing.

It certainly could and should. I can’t think of many other bi-partisan issues like this where neither side stands to gain much and does stand to lose a lot if this shit gets more prevalent. I’m not convinced the world is really that hard-left or hard-right but that’s not for this discussion.

On a side note: is there a reason why we can’t come up with simple ways to make our plates hard to read and/or limit what can be seen? I mean, you’re allowed to use a radar detector which is sort of a way to get around possible speeding issues. Not quite the same thing but a decent example.

Like reflective coatings, little trap door that can be activated as needed, etc. might sound silly but if this is the game they want to play then we can play too.

More good news:
Making a license plate completely "Flock-proof" or immune to automated license plate readers (ALPR) using physical modifications is largely ineffective and often illegal. Flock Safety systems utilize high-resolution optical character recognition (OCR) paired with vehicle fingerprinting technology that logs make, model, color, and unique body features even if a plate is obscured.

The Supreme Court just issued a major ruling that strengthens the Fourth Amendment protections that Flock has been exploiting “On the heels of the recent Supreme Court ruling on geofencing and how that violates the Fourth Amendment, a US district judge has now ruled that tower dump warrants also violates the Fourth Amendment. As a reminder, the Supreme Court ruled that your location data is protected by the Fourth Amendment.

The Supreme Court's ruling could potentially be setting Flock up for violating the same thing because Flock had previously leaned on Carpenter v. United States to claim that they are constitutionally protected and allowed to surveil and store people's data the way that they do.

If tower dumps require particularized probable cause because they expose people’s movements, so should a database reconstructing them from license plates?

We need a test case to go to SCOTUS to stop this.

There has always been a tiny but incredibly vocal minority that has nothing better to do than bleat on about “safety”. I feel they are mentally ill. They head up faux safety organisations and put out press releases. Normal people just put up with it as they have better things to do. Then again that’s how the world works across many stupid decisions. Squeaky wheel syndrome.
