Bolt shows m14 1.25 which seems really unfortunate cause I could’ve just dropped a time sert in if it was 1.5. It leaks obviously and the crush washer sits outside of the inset part where the bolt goes.

Should I just find a proper m14 1.25 bolt/washer, do I time sert it to m12 1.25 and get a smaller drain plug or do I need a new pan since it’s already drilled out?

Do an M14 time sert. I now have one in both my drain plug holes.

Back story - rear came stripped when I bought the car, front was okay. I tried the M14 kit from Rogue which lasted for a little bit before the same situation happened again so I went to the M14 time sert.

The front eventually stripped and I just went straight to the M14 time sert because I already had everything.

The M14 time sert will work just fine in both drain plug spots. I also use the mercedes/audi crush washers that are more round. They seem to seal better with the time serts.

So you mean you have an m14 size bolt in there now? My understanding is the m14 time sert drills an m16 size hole prior to the sert going in? I was worried doing the m14 time sert would take too much away from the threads and I’d be left with nothing to put the time sert into haha.

Correct, M14 plug in there now with the correct time sert for M14. You do have to drill out larger, but there was enough material. I was honestly more concerned drilling out the front drain plug, but that was okay too.

Man you have no idea how much I appreciate this info haha. Which bolt did your go with? I see the Mercedes crush washer note.

Happy to help!

I had 2 drain plugs from the rogue engineering M14 kit. I asked those guys and they provided this link:

https://belmetric.com/stainless-allen-socket-metric-drain-plug-din-908/?sku=DP14X1.5AHSS

The look the exact same as the factory drain plugs just M14.

EDIT: One other thing to add - The timesert kit I bought came with pretty long thread inserts. I bought shorter ones to make sure that the oil drained completely.
