Just getting around to looking at replacing front struts on my 2008 e93 m3 non-EDC. I noticed that a lot of the sets (like Bilstein B12) are not available for the e93 and I am anxious I'll get the wrong parts from someplace less scrupulous about the difference, as I have had similar slight model differences in the past.
Any suggestions on struts, strut sets for e93?
OEM springs have a range of part numbers across the variants, and even option level I think. I'm not sure if or why the struts would change but they may be matched to the springs. As far as I'm aware there are only two major differences, EDC or not. I don't think there are any physical differences in the suspensions between the variants, but may be wrong.
There are no differences in dampers (front struts and rear shocks) but they are typically spec’ed with e90 and e92 M spring rates, not the much heavier e93 M spring rate requirements. There’s also the possibility that aftermarket dampers have different valving between the e90 and e92 Ms vs. the e93 M.
OEM dampers have different part n° for E93
they may be valved firmer, could be a good upgrade on E90 E92
