How to repair wheels with aluminum wire brush damage

Hello everyone,

I picked up a set of these 513m wheels recently. The previous owner did some good damage using a aluminum wire brush (from what it looks like). There remain some deep scratches even after hand sanding with 320 grit with much materials taken off.


Originally I thought it would be a good long-term DIY project but at this point I am not sure if it is worth moving forward with the project and cutting my losses.

Would appreciate your expertise.

I actually quite like the stripped bare metal look on space gray.

I see he was going for a custom brushed finish.

I think the bare metal looks good, and definitely unique. I think a really really thick coat of paint would maybe hide the scratches.

You could also just clear coat the bare wheels as they are now. They would be 1 of 1.

I think it would be fun to just screw around with them to see what they look like, unless you spent a lot on them and just want to dump them.
