Hello,

I plan on buying an E90 in the next month or two and would like to have a solid independent mechanic shop lined up for anything I might need to address (RBs, TAs, etc.). I'm not looking for the cheapest place in town and don't mind spending a little more if the quality of the work and customer service make it worth it. I've heard GT Peace in Chantilly and Brother's Garage in Alexandria are decent places. Thoughts?

Also, looking for a body shop that would do the front bumper reflector delete - remove, close the holes, paint to match. Has anyone done that locally or know of a shop that would do a good job?

Thanks in advance,
Mike
RRT. They've done RBs, TAs, and many other things for me. Definitely not the cheapest, but always great work. The body shop recs all seem to be D&V but I haven't actually used them yet. Curious to hear if there are other recs there that may be less busy.
If you head south Racewerks in VA Beach is good. Dan and John will get you taken care of.

They did not do bearings for me, but would be capable.

A coworker has used RRT before with success.
Nice, thank you both very much!
GT Peace is an awesome shop in Chantilly. They are the only shop that touches my cars when its beyond my capability.
Highly recommend Brother’s garage in Alexandria. They are specialized in M cars and building street/show cars, and super professional with decent prices to boot - I have taken my F82 and now E92 M3 there (latter is currently there for RB).

I haven’t personally used Brothers Garage but I do follow them on instagram. I recently reached out to them for some quotes on new tires and fitment. Very helpful group of guys there and fair pricing IMO. While RRT is/has been the go to for many, I cannot understand how or why their prices are so damn high. I know they have a strong reputation but damn. I emailed them a few months ago, along with GT Peace and other shops in the area for install on some Ohlins R&T. Was quoted “about 1900-2000”. Other shops came in around 1400-1600. Can someone please explain the price variance with RRT!!!

Both price ranges seem high to me, unless this also includes a proper race alignment - am assuming this is a 4-5 hour job tops. I would give brothers a call (Pat or Aum) and ask for a quote - they install coilovers all the time.
