I purchased an E93 M3 in June and have been loving the car as a daily driver. I am now at the point where I need to get winter tires, which I plan on putting on the stock 220m wheels. I don't see much snow but do see a good amount of dry, cold mornings hence why I am not going with narrower winters. I also love the look and stance of my car as is with the stock wheels and 18mm spacers.
This presents the opportunity to get new wheels for my summer tires. I have been leaning towards the Apex ARC-8 as they are well reviewed and I like the look, especially in black. I would also like to go wider and keep the stagger, and it seems like 19x9.5 and 19x10.5 is popular with 265/30/19's and 285/30/19's.
My question is this: do wider wheels and tires hurt the steering feel? I would appreciate the extra grip but as the car is not tracked my priority is feedback and driving enjoyment on the roads. I should also note that I would like to not use spacers and get a similar stance, which is another vote for wider tires.
I would love to hear some opinions of folks who have switched from stock wheels to wider setups and can offer a before and after comparison.
