With what I've heard from Mclaren there does seem a panic set up change to favour NOR, after PIA agreed a place swap at a previous race because of a pit stop anomaly for NOR (which PIA should never have agreed to, saying 'nothing to do with me') now McLaren have set the car basically to predominantly favour NOR which does seem like a f u Oscar. I can't see any other reason so the question is how this will this impact on MAX at Interlagos.

Nah, the Stewarts usually let stuff side lap one turn one. Lewis created his own bad luck mid race by not following race directors instructions to take the paved runoff. Thus a fair penalty for gaining an advantage. The team didn't help matters by explaining the penalty wrong

The only changes I have seen were only made to Norris' car. Piastri tried and rejected the changes. Stella said there's no other changes coming for the rest of the year.

It's all submitted to FIA, so it would be public knowledge. Everyone's making things up to try to stir up the rumor mill. Probably my least favorite thing about F1. Last year it was getting Checo out of F1 and they succeeded only for everyone to eat their words. This year it's stirring up drama between Lando and Piastri that isn't needed. But it sure does get them clicks on their websites and videos, which is what they want.

“Following a Turn 1 incident, Race Control was informed that debris was present on the track at the apex of that corner. On lap 3, marshals were alerted and placed on standby to enter the track and recover the debris once all cars had passed Turn 1,” the FIA said.

“As soon as it became apparent that Lawson had pitted, the instructions to dispatch marshals were rescinded, and a double yellow flag was shown in that area. We are still investigating what occurred after that point.”

FIA hasn't been handling these things all that well recently. Austin sprint race should have been red flagged instead of SC. No need to run like a quarter of the laps under SC, this isn't Indycar.

Then these two events in Mexico... pretty bad. Having two marshals nearly hit, then the very odd VSC at the end of the race... just poor decisions all around.

Fia is creaking under the strain of the rules they've made but folk in teams are too scared to say anything as they'll be fined.

It comes back to me now as in the article you enclosed, the stiffer thicker upper
wishbone for the more extreme king pin inclination of the 4 car. NOR was complaining at first that he was quicker but with no feel and could suddenly fly off the track.

Yeah. So Norris does have a slightly different suspension on his car but Piastri was offered the changes and turned them down. Beyond that, there haven't been any reported changes to FIA. They both got a new PU in Monza. Piastri got a new chassis after his crash in Singapore - maybe there's some issue with it?

Also curious if he's having issues getting the car set up. I saw at one point that McLaren stopped sharing some data between drivers. Earlier this season Jolyon Palmer noted that it was clear that Piastri was making gains by seeing where Lando was faster than him on track, but apparently that data flow has stopped.

The thing is we know that NOR has this more aggressive front suspension on as already described, and PIA hasn't, which required a different tub but he had this before at other tracks so why is he suddenly quicker here. It means they may have added on more upgrades which have not been disclosed yet as they should be to the FIA/stewards.

True also. Atlhough I find Piastra the more talented driver, Norris certainly get's more out of the McLaren at the moment and is in a better form. I think he's going to take it in the end.
