Hi guys!

Anybody had dct heat exchanger issues before? I think mine just went bad and found oil in the coolant. Never heard of the issue before atleast with this cars. The smell of the oil is like the dct oil not engine oil and for the feel it’s also not like 10w60. The car just writed to check the coolant and when I check I found the the oil in it and I think some of my coolant just went into the transmission oil. My guess is it’s the heat exchanger but if anyone saw something similar to this any advice would be good. Here’s a picture of the oil in the coolant.

Thanks in advance!

Yikes. I guess as our cars age these issues are bound to crop up. I think I'll do a DCT heat exchanger bypass soon since I live in hot climate anyway.
I’m also living in hot climate, just never heard this issue before so I didn’t changed it when I had the opportunity to change it.

But now it’s time for it since it went bad and hopefully we can flush everything 100% and the car will be driveable again.
It's never really been an issue in our cars but I used to own an Alfa 156 and the oil-coolant heat exchanger is prone to leaking and mixing oil with coolant. So I've never trusted oil-coolant coolers.
Just checked it and the coolant is in my dct. So now 100% sure that the heat exchanger can get an issue also. Atleast in mine it went bad.
So it appears that the heat exchangers and cooling system components are wear items after all.

How many miles and track days were on your car prior to this happening?

Sorry for the late reply.
Actually the car has got 257k kms and it used hard sometimes, I mean I own it for 2 years now and went to track days like 5 times, but I used it for some “drift days” also. So the car is used hard at some point and it’s also a daily driver. All preventative maintanance is done and since I never heard of this issue, I never thought I would need to change the heat exchanger. But now the transmission is flushed, exchanger is changed, coolant is also flushed and the car is on the road again.
