Hello, I'm having some issues with engine pinging that my mechanic and I are trying to address. He reckons it's something called "piston slap". The RBs have been changed and he's sure it's not a bearing issue.
He thinks it's something to do with fuel igniton but he says he can't tell from the which cylinder(s) are causing the problem. So he wants to replace all 8 ignition coils and also replace/test the injectors. I'm happy to do that, even though the injectors are new Bosch OE ones from FCP installed only 12 months ago. Ignition coils are original (2013 model).
However, I was surprised he couldn't obtain any information from the ECU, so I thought I'd try to log some data with my Bimmerlink App.
There seems to be a lot of knock events and ignition angle issues to my untrained eye in the data I obtained.
Can I please get some help interpreting the data in the file I've attached? Any insight would be appreciated, or even just pointing me in the direction of someone who I can pay to analyse this data.
Thanks!
