After recently finishing my last job, I’ve finally had some time to complete the interactive dashboard for North American spec E9x M3s.

Notes: the Premium, Technology, Convenience and Cold Weather packages were a BMW USA offering. Therefore for Canadian cars, you will see ‘n/a’ against these packages.
The Competition Package was only offered on the E90 and E92. For the E93, you will see ‘n/a’.

Do let me know if you come across any bugs or typos.

Finally, researching, organising and maintaining this data and website has taken many years to achieve and does have ongoing costs (storage, hosting etc). If you find the information useful, please consider making a donation via the PP link on the web site.

Very cool and much appreciated [$$ donation sent!]

Observations on my 1 of 1 spec result:
'Package' errors - Highlighted blue boxes noted in pic
> Technology & Convenience - Actually OE installed; showing "No"

Thanks... brother's E92 M3 back in the day.

Since I swapped the black extended leather in my E93 to fox red extended leather, the data here is no longer 100% accurate, but super cool nonetheless!

Wow that’s incredibly cool, great looking UI too. On a separate note we’re getting dangerously close to the “rare” corvette guy stereotype aka “my base C4 is 1 of 3 in this exact spec built on June15th in 2018 so it’s RARE”
NO LOWBALLS I KNOW WHAT I GOT

Joking aside cool program.
Wow 1 of 1 for year and region
In love with it even more
Thank you for creating this

Thank you so much for your kind donation, it’s really appreciated.

The dashboard is showing the correct packages for how your car left the factory as both the Technology and Convenience Packages had ended by ModelYear 2012.

Here’s a quick overview of the different packages offered in the US through the production run, and how they changed over time:-

Cold Weather Package (ZCW) – available from launch until end of production
  • Heated Front Seats
  • Retractable Headlight Washers
  • Ski Bag (for E92)

Technology Package (ZTP) – from launch until July 2010 (present on some early ModelYear 2011 cars)
  • EDC
  • M Drive
  • Comfort Access
  • Navigation

Convenience Package (ZCV) – ModelYear 2011 only
  • Alarm System
  • Comfort Access
  • PDC – Rear
  • Navigation
  • iPod and USB Interface
  • Voice Control
  • Real-time Traffic

Premium Package (ZPP) – from launch until end of production
The contents of the Premium Package changed through the production run. As the Technology Package and Convenience Package had both ceased after 2011, options from those packages were absorbed into the Premium Package, so by the time your car was produced in Model Year, 2012, the Premium Package came with:-
  • Powerfold Mirrors
  • Universal Garage Door Opener
  • Interior Mirror with Digital Compass
  • BMW Assist with Enhanced Bluetooth
  • USB Audio
  • Powered Front Seats
  • Electric Rear Sunblind
  • PDC – Rear
  • Navigation
  • Online Information Services
  • Voice Control
  • Real-time Traffic
  • Leather Choice
  • Trim Choice

Hopefully that explains any confusion over your car’s factory spec.

As a thanks for your donation, here’s one of my Heritage Certificates showing the factory attributes of your car, together with its original list price, supplying dealer and running in service details. If you private message your email address, I’ll forward a .pdf version with the VIN number visible.

dar2008's user avatardar2008 many thanks for the Heritage Cert for my Whip...looks fantastic! :respect:

Display/wall mount worthy to add to my "M" collection wall.

Appreciate and understand the detailed explanation of the Dashboard output.
There are less than 20 AW speed cloth single hump AW 2009 e92s and I am the original owner. Thanks for providing this visibility OP.

What is a heritage certificate? I learn something new again

A few have enquired about the Heritage Certificate I offer on E9x M3s. In addition to the factory options and original list price, in most cases I am also able to include the supplying dealer, and running in service details.

Currently this is only available for US spec cars. If you would like one, please send me a private message.

Thanks
I feel like a vette owner lol but my former mineral white over fox red/black manual car was 1/1! The only car produced in that combo that came with the CF roof. Only 3 MW/Fox red-black cars were produced and the other two had moonroofs.

I still want to buy that car back... the one that got away.

After recently finishing my last job, I’ve finally had some time to complete the interactive dashboard for North American spec E9x M3s.

So, if you always wanted to know how rare your spec is, you can now find out.

--Note, this works best on a computer or tablet, rather than a phone--

Most of the visuals are clickable so you can filter to the cars that meet your given criteria. Hopefully you find it intuitive to use – you can always click on Image hosted on: i.postimg.cc at the top to return the page to its starting position.

Image hosted on: i.postimg.cc at the top right displays how many cars meet the currently selected criteria.

As an example, if you want to see how many stripper-spec E92s were made for North America, you can select Speed Cloth from the Interior dropdown, then click on E92, Manual, Single-hump and Carbon Roof to find the answer (hold down the CTRL key as you make multiple selections). The answer’s 210 - 14 for Canada, 196 for the USA.

North American E9x M3s came in a variety of 64 different colours. You can turn on 'Drill Mode' at the top of the colour list by clicking this button.

Image hosted on: i.postimg.cc

With that enabled, clicking on a colour will then drill-down to show how many in that colour came with each interior option...

You’ll also see a dropdown showing the [...]

This is so incredibly well done. No wonder I could never find a manual E90 comp back when I was looking. Thanks so much for making this on behalf of the community!

Right, was trying to find a 2011 E90 M3 comp with the two-tone Fox red interior was tough to find the right one.
Is there any available data that can be included in this that would show port installed options? Not that I need to prove my car is any more rare, but.....

Unfortunately not. My data originates from BMWs main systems and port installed options are not listed. I suspect they are only identified within BMW USA or dealer systems.

Great spec:thumbsup:
