Hi brains trust,

Just wondering if anyone has come across this symptom before?

After a drive, I'll return home and turn the car off. For about maybe 5 or 10 minutes after the car has been turned off, I noticed the dash cluster in between the speedo and tacho flickering rapidly between P and N, before it goes off, then comes back on all by itself again and repeats the cycle, before it eventually stops and actually goes to sleep.

See video of the symptom here:

I did a scan and pulled these codes but I'm not sure if they would be related though:

5A74 (status not present)
5DB6 (status not present)
5E19 (status present)

The car recently went into limp mode stating a transmission error on the iDrive and wouldn't shift into Drive. Turning the car off and on again a couple of times got it going again, and this particular issue has not occured again since. The transmission seems fine and shifts normally.

Any advice welcome!!! Please help. :help:

Car is a 2008 E90 M3 with DCT and EDC.
If not a CAS and or TCU ECU issue I’d look at my battery date. Outside of that has any coding taken place recently? My money would be on battery. There are many more possibilities but that’s where my head is at on your behalf. Have you put any effort into defining those codes? I did hence my answer.
Sorry, forgot to mention the battery is relatively new and charged up.

I've googled the codes but not sure how they would be related to the symptom I see in the video above when the car is off. No other coding has taken place.

Hoping someone might have seen this before and know what it might be.
