Hi all,

What do you all think of the Mercedes AMG G63? I thought it was ridiculous, expensive, wasteful and boastful...and then I drove one. It turns out the G63 is also astonishingly fun! (And I have another reason to hate myself.)

My full highly-conflicted write-up of the G63 drive is here.

Mostly, it comes down to the fact that the V8 in this truck is a barrel of monkeys and makes the big box fly! I have the same V8 in my AMG GT, but it sounds so much better in the G63. I have no idea why!

The G63 is comfortable, easy to see out of, and has a refined ride and drivetrain. The amenities are high quality, if old-school; there’s very little in-your-face tech in this Mercedes.

I’m too wound up in the G63’s King-of-LA image to buy one myself (not that I can afford it), but it was a real meet-your-enemies moment when I drove the G63 I despised and discovered I love its on-road attitude.

Cheers and Happy New Years!
Mike

Is your whole presence on this forum to provide backlinks to your blog? Literally every thread is a “hey all” come check out my website?

Then you cross post the same thing across multiple sections?
I used to have an E90 M3 and became part of M3post to share in the M3 forum specifics. At this point the M3 is sold, so what I post now is about the other cars I've been driving.

Yes, I'd like to have people come and read my writing on by blog. Yes, I do post similar post on other forums where it might be appreciated. Sorry if I've offended. I like having conversations about what I've been driving and writing.

Best,
Mike

There’s no requirement for you to own a specific car. But posting 2-3 of the same posts across the forum for every “review” is definitely spam. Especially given you’ve confirmed the intent to drive traffic to your blog.

Why not just create a single thread, “Mike’s reviews” be honest and upfront about your intentions. Post each review in sequence and you’re accomplishing the same without endlessly spamming our forum.
This is spam, not “intent to share in conversation”…

Good idea, thanks!
Excessive, I see this as the modern hummer H2. These were cool when they were Offroad vehicles, but have sadly strayed too far from their roots.
