The amount of effort and detail he put into all these videos regarding the whole process was unreal. The joy he had when that B7 fired up was awesome. I truly felt his excitement and relief that nothing broke on first start up lol.
Sreten’s “About” page on his YouTube channel says he’s not a professional mechanic….that is crazy! He truly knows his stuff and has an intoxicating passion for older BMWs. I hope he keeps that passion for many years to come!

OP, thank you for posting this!! I had no idea this channel existed. I'm hooked, this guy is awesome to watch for many different reasons. I'm watching him rebuild the B7 now (just bought one today!)

Enjoy catching up on all of the episodes, they are all equally brilliant!

Congratulations on the purchase of your B7! Do you have a link to your thread on it? Would love to see it!
Best YouTuber out there currently.

I save his episodes for when I feel I deserve one :)

I've been watching the amazing work that Sreten at M539 Restorations has done over the last 2-3 years and I was just wondering if anyone else watches his video too?

I am always watching out for a notification of when he posts a new video :happyanim:

He has an amazing talent and an awesome collection of various BMWs. The guy has 2 E39 M5's

Shame what happened to his awesome E30 but I am sure he will put it right soon.
Yes, I have watched a few of his videos. He seems like a really great guy with a lot of knowledge about BMWs.
The next episode of Project Chicago (Alpina B7) is up. What a sad ending :(

The last episode will be the successful repair 🥰

It'll be interesting to hear what the engine rebuilder has to say about it, too.
So heartbreaking. I was really hoping for a successful test drive because of how much work he's put into this car. :(
Sad indeed. He was so dejected at the end :(

I’m hoping the next episode will be a glorious repair. It has to be, right!?!? The Alpina must live on!
This is why we watch, rather than do it ourselves

It will be, he seems to be the type of person that just won't give up.

Bearing analysis video just dropped. Project Chicago
Chihuahua's user avatarChihuahua, that's one good looking 7; really like the Alpina body kit. And you're getting the very best in-depth video tutorials on it, too :)

Absolutely stunning Chihuahua!
Please keep us updated with progress on it (maybe create a new thread?).

Just finished watching this. Well, at least he can take some comfort that it was not his fault. But as mentioned in the video, it is his problem :D

Sounds like a good plan going forward.
Awesome, thanks for the heads up Mani; I know what I'll be watching tonight :)

I don't have many plans for the B7 to be honest. Alpina does such a good job with these cars that there really isn't anything to do as far as mods go - they really don't leave any stone unturned in Buchloe. I might put some spacers on it, and the deco stripe for the front bumper, but that would be about it.

I am completely hooked on M539's channel, it's awesome.
Great update video but very sad. Not the easy fix that I’d hoped for. Loved the drunken arrest interlude:)

I absolutely love the B7 wheels. Such a classic design.

Brutal.

But this is exactly what I watch the channel for; someone else doing all the graft, just to have it fail and do it all again. Not that I'm rooting for stuff to go wrong...it just happens.

Yup. I was glad to see that fault was with the machinist, and that this channel shows the warts of our hobby
