Well, it happened to me. My M3 spun a rod bearing. At this point, I'm just looking to sell as is and get into something different. I'm really just looking for opinions on what the car is worth as it sits now. I could put another engine in it, but I really don't have the time to devote to it at this point.

Car Information:
- 2008 e92 M3 DCT, 95k miles.
- Jet Black, Black Interior.
- Single hump, Carbon Fiber Top.
- Black Avant Garde M359 wheels, Michelin Pilot Super Sports.
- Stock everything across the board other than wheels.
- Exterior 8/10
- Interior 9/10

Figured that was the basic information needed to establish a value. I know 2008's are less desirable. I'm sure someone could take it from a nice roller into a really fun car.
That's a huge bummer, sorry to hear it. I think there was a e90 chassis with a blown motor that sold last year for ~$10k albeit was a very desirable spec and likely under priced. Would be a great chassis for someone interested in building out a gutted/caged car.

Good luck and sorry for the the misfortune! Consider posting with additional details in the "blown motor thread registry". It's super helpful for the community as we're tracking these occurrences.

Thank you. Yep, it stinks, but it happens. Better to move on and get back into something new, rather than sitting around sulking.

Looks like my post has already been shared to the blown engine registry. Someone's quick...

Lotus Emira would be a lovely option!
They look nice! $70,000 is a little pricey for me. I did look into an older exige at one point.
OP, ever so sorry to hear. Its "just a car" but plenty emotions and money comes with it so I feel your pain. Hope you get a fair chunk of cash for the car and find something else nice to put it.

Thank you! I'm hoping so. It's been paid of for a while so at least I'm not upside down on it. Could always be worse.
