I don't subscribe to Cable TV and have used Apple TV for many years. I prefer to watch shows on Netflix and typically watch one show at a time until the episodes run out. I have recently been watching NCIS, and the main character, Gibbs, played by Mark Harmon sported an Omega Planet Ocean, one of my favorite watches. This got me thinking of watches in movies/tv shows. A watch in my collection, UTS 1 000M GMT, (http://www.utswatches.com/1000m-gmt-dive-watch/) actually my favorite, was worn by a villain in on of the Die Hard movies. Turns out that the director of the movie is a huge fan of UTS. I've owned my UTS for 5+ years and have never seen another out in public, these are rare watches and there is a great story on how they are built, find it here http://www.utswatches.com/about/

With this in mind, I was wondering if any of you watch fans have perhaps seen your favorite, or any unusual watches worn by movie/tv show characters?

I have the Omega Seamaster 300 Professional... this is kind of a gimme, since it became known as the Bond Watch. Is always cool to see it though. My personal favorite brand, Vacheron Constantin has a couple appearances..

Not a movie but Kevin Spacey sports a number of high end IWC pieces in House of Cards. Top Gun Tom Cruise has a few but the most famous is that PVD Orfina that he wears in the bar. That one was a funny story, the old guy that the GF is there to meet was just doing a cameo, he was actually a Top Gun pilot and a consultant on the film. When they were about to film he saw what they had Tom Cruise wearing and said something along the lines of "a pilot would never wear that piece of crap" and took off his own watch and gave it to Tom Cruise to wear for the shot.

Noticed your Avatar, Jeremy Clarkson and Hammond appear to wear some nice watches on Top Gear, though I could not make out what they were, they looked expensive.
Ben Affleck "Gone Girl" sporting a Pepsi GMT.

Think I have spotted a number of IWCs, Omega, and the occasional Breitling. Cpt. Slow wears some weird stuff on occasion as you would expect. Everything I have noticed is what I would describe as "high end normal" if that makes any sense, haven't seen anything from Richard Mille or $100K JLC for instance.
While not in a movie, Matt Damon got some love for wearing a cool planetarium Van Cleef and Arpels watch to the Oscars this last year (apropos as he was nominated for Martian).

Can't not mention panerai.

The most memorable watch in ANY movie is the Lancet that Christopher Watkins gives to a young Bruce Willis.

Noticed Lucy Liu wearing a JLC Reverso in the tv show ELEMENTARY, looked awesome.

Stallone has a history with Panerai, but the Panerai Frank Martin(Statham) wore in TRANSPORTER, that was epic. Mechanical Panerai beeped like a Quartz.
Don't forget us Aussie's.

Whilst I don't have a II, I do have a Super Avenger :D

Good choices but McQueen was wearing a Swiss Heuer Monaco which was the name of the company before it became Tag :slap:

That's an excellent find, after a web search read there was a recent reissue.
Never new about this watch but now like it very much.
Thanks for posting the Sigourney Weaver pic, I loved the Alien movies! PS: my first watch as a young kid was a Seiko, it was probably the most reliable watch I owned. Seiko appears to be going upmarket, I would certainly purchase a Grand Seiko, their line up is gorgeous. http://seikousa.com/collections/grand%20seiko/index.php

Grand Seiko is a sleeper brand. Very well made. They are really great and well-respected watches with some interesting innovation.
Not sure if it was in a movie, but Paul Newman was know to wear a Rolex Daytona. A classic for race car drivers and pilots. Great leather jacket watch!

Search Rolex Paul Newman Daytona, that style face Daytona at auction goes for about $100,000. To me the Newman Daytona is just a very 'cool' watch. I think the ones he owned or gave as gifts are an even crazier level of desirable.
Hope you don't mind the cross-post, but in John Wick I was interested in the watches. Particularly, I became interested because there is a scene in which Willem Dafoe's character deliberately removes his before getting his ass kicked. Turns out, the watches were intentionally featured and were Carl F. Bücherer watches.

Got that watch simply because of the McQueen connection. It's a great piece. If you can find any of the pre-Tag stuff it's always good.
Clarkson seems to fancy his Omega PO quite a bit....I seem to see it almost every season, multiple times.
