Bagged E90 M3 on Airrex

BIMMERPOST

... and soon to be caged and fitted with Recaros.

Edit* Some videos to watch before you comment about not being able to drive the car properly... or "tracking" it everyday like you race car drivers.

I went with a full Airrex kit with the AMS because I've seen nothing but positive reviews about them. And big thanks to Wilson at AirwerksUSA.com for the kit. The management system comes in a complete wired box. Its a plug and play suspension. Easy as 1-2-3. I'm absolutely happy with them and they ride so much smoother than my coilovers. Presets for pancaked out, ride height, and raise height for the bumps.

Enjoy!

Very cool and different! The ride overall is smoother than coilover?

From a performance point of view it looks like crap. From an aesthetic point of view, which is what I'm sure you were going for, it looks sick! Bring my back to my old VW days.

Isn't it funny I contacted Accuair yesterday and now you post this.

why a cage and race seats in a bagged car??

IMO bagging m3s will just get you a lot of hate, and make the car look awful.

Very happy to see variations to modding the M3. Please let us know how it handles compared to the setup you had before.

Looks great C:

I don't get the cage and Recaros either. Is this gonna be a show car or track car? Fixed seats don't make sense on a car that just sees shows

Yep I was trying not to sound too negative. But now that the honest posts have come in.. the handling must be shot to hell.

Taking a car designed with a terrific suspension and putting air ride for the "stance" makes little sense to me.

Bags belong on Chevys and trucks that have separate frames and leaf spring suspensions. Not an M3. Just my 2c.

+1, I don't see the point. But now that I think about it we can assume the car is for show considering it has bags... And the owner thinks a cage and race seats would look cool when at a show... And show cars are generally not focused on functionality. I would never considering doing this to a performance car but whatever...

+1. Look what happened to the e46. It's now coming for the e9x cars. I for one will not stand by watching all these kids ruin these cars with stance and fugged up 1/4 panels from running too low. The car scene is falling apart. All these kids want to be internet famous and they go to shows that are invite only with their stock cars just super dumped on rare wheels worth 1/4 of the car. It's a damn shame I tell ya!!

I don't know why you'd post a vid of some guy drifting two cars as any reasoning as to how good bags handle....

Around 2004 I recall, SuperStreet tested a set of then "new" air ride on their STi project car. This car was spray painted flat black with spray cans and they actually did testing on a road course with the air ride equipped STi and had really good things to say about it. Granted the price was super high at the time as it was "newish" technology, but they did say it worked well..

Soo, air ride probaly has come a long way.

recaros and cage are absolutely worth solid points at a show... so for what it is that's a sick setup

at least OP's not trying to put a fake heavy hitters sticker on it or anything
