Maybe a dumb question

I brought the M3 (DCT) down to Miami where I can at least appreciate the car instead of NYC.

The other day, I found a very remote area where I had a chance to play with the car a bit. Since I've never had a lot of opportunity to do so in NYC, I decided to do some 0-60 runs in various modes (MDM, DSC off, etc)

So here's the dumb question (maybe)... From a standstill, I can't get any wheel spin or even break loose but I can chirp the tires through 3rd gear before hitting the brakes. I recall when I first got the car, I could spin the tires loose from a standstill with the oem conti's. Is this normal?

I have 285's on the rear now and not sure if the extra rubber is giving me more traction or taking more power to turn or if it's neither... and there is another issue with power.

No flames please, just curious for feedback.

Million different things. If you want to do a burn out, all you need to do is launch mode. Technically no wheels slip is a good thing.

I completely agree that it's better not to have wheel spin but I'm wondering if it can without the help of LC

Send a message via Yahoo to BzsBimmer
When you first got the car, the tires were new and probably a bit oily still
Was the road the same
How much air pressure are you running (larger tire patch)
Wider tires
Etc
