Exhaust is too loud !!

Few weeks ago my local exhaust makers finished making my X-pipe. First of all i want to say what an amazing job they have done. I know them very well and are good friends and they have a serious OCD issue that if something its perfect its not good enough which shows in the work they do. We decide to go for a fully cattless x-pipe with no silencers with a modfied backbox. The cold start was crazy seriously loud which woke up every bird in the industrial estate. Tbh i wanted crazy loud but after driving it i think i might need some small silencers. We are trying to source some Aero turbine AR25 silencers for it to take the edge off the noise.

I spoke to a few on here that have had a fully cattless x-pipe with exhaust mod and said its fine but it is actually the loudest thing iv heard from a car. To the point the i was going to take the into work to show the lads but starting at 6.00am would be seriously nasty and would wake up everyone in a mile radius. I think i may get an asbo with it haha. has anyone had a setup fully cattless with silencers does it take the 'edge' off the noise?

Im wanting it queiter now but dont know if i should go back to a standard box or put two ar25 silencers in the x-pipe. Anyone able to give me advice that has had a fully catless non silenced x-pipe.

I have a similar setup. I first added 2 aero resonators and then another two to keep the rasp down more. Now it's fully catless with 4 aero resonators and sounds perfect.

Is it still as loud ? im not really wanting to cut the x-pipe up cause it looks too good :L but i cant stand the noise now.

resonators will help reduce the noise, I had a Challenge Race X-pipe and added 4 total resonators and it quieted it down a ton. Hope that helps

It's eliminate most of the rasp and took out a ton of noise upstairs that was kind of annoying to me. My car has an aftermarker muffler and is pretty loud also if that helps.

Also just an FYI that Aero Turbine was sold to Jones exhaust so they don't say Aero on the side anymore, but rather Jones. Not a big deal, but just in case you can't find the Aeros you know why.

Actually did struggle to find them. Found someone on ebay that would ship them to the uk for me.

I have 2 AR 25, and then I added my other 2 later on so the back two are the Jones AR 25..... Literally the same thing just diff writing on the cans.

Search "Jones Exhaust" and you'll find them. Really great resonators

You must have CRAZY drone with a straight through design. Consider adding 2 Heimholtz chambers. They work great for drone will keeping some of the volume.

The drone doesnt bother me its just the noise level iv been heard from two miles away haha

having cold start deleted from a tune would help a lot.

As stated above, adding resonators will help as a first step, if you want to retain the exhaust. The next step would to throw the stock exhaust back on. I would not change up the X-pipe as that is where most of the power is.

These have been pretty commonly used in the E46 M3's a lot to cure the rasp. They're pretty good actually, I've personally used them before on my E46.

OEM box usually makes the rasp more noticeable. But try it and see what happens, maybe you'll like it.
