Towing???

I think I have been in Europe too long since I am about to ask this question but does anyone know if there is a towing capacity for the M3? Reason asking is that BMW has a hidden/removable trailer/tow hook (code 3AC) for a E92 Coupe. According to what I have found on the web so far:

Max braked towing weight is: 1,600kg 325i to 1,800kg 335d

That's about 3500-3900lbs

Also wondering if this item would even fit on a M3.

For those that haven't been in Europe, it is very common to use a car (Audi, VW, BMWs, MB...etc) to pull a camper/trailer/whatever. I would like my cake and ice cream at the same time ... driving my M3 and bringing our 2 Harleys with us.

I would think that the M3's aerodynamic bumper and the 4 pipe exhaust in the center would make it unlikely. However, you could try the following instead

On the E46 the regular 3-Series towing setup would not work on the M3 because of the central muffler. I would bet it's the same on the E92. If you get a two can muffler setup that leaves the center rear clear you might stand a chance.

I have seen a homemade custom setup for the M3, but it wasn't pretty.

That would take a lot of effort in fabrication, at least to make it look clean.
