This driver actually seems like a decent driver after watching the second video. He did much better then half the people commenting in this thread would do. His first mistake was drifting on a track with big fucking tires lining the pavement. When you drift you're going to lose control and spin out. Period. Pay attention to what's on the track or lining it. Second he's got his mother, brother and dog in the car with him. Distractions/uneven weight distribution won't help.

You're also a track design expert. Lol
It's the car's fault then, it lost control.

Those tires are there so people dont drive on the grass. Most people with some basic driving skills dont hit them.
Apparently you've never been to a track before? People lose control all the fucking time. Push your car to the limit and improve your driving skills - you won't be ayrton senna out of the gate. Sigh.

First of all, the guy was drifting. If you knew anything about road racing, you wouldnt call that race track unsafe because of the location of that tire.

You really have to go out of your way and drive the slowest line to hit that tire.

It's like saying a guy drifting at the Nurburgring hit a guard rail or a wall therefore the track is unsafe, that's what's moronic in my book.

I think there are 4 passengers. The female was in the back seat in the middle and it took the left side back seat passenger a while longer to get out probably because his door wouldn't open, so he had to get out on the right side. You see his helmet pop up in the very last second. That's a lot of extra weight.

This really suck. I feel bad for this guy.

I know that I am still a novice when it comes to drifting and sometimes you don't know what you can handle unless you push.

Look at all the tire marks, they are all heading back towards that tire.

Regardless, i don't see what purpose that tire is serving. There is a big grass field behind it so it seems better to just leave people the runoff if they need it. If they just need a marker, well then use a large cone. It causes much less damage.

How can anyone call the driver "stupid"? He was practicing car control in a controlled environment, which is the only place to safely exceed the limits. This is just another track incident, which is bound to happen. The main thing is that no one was injured.

Most people on this board only use M cars to drive to and from Starbucks and have a million excuses as to why they will not learn how to drive.

Which is more foolish?

Practicing driving skill on a race track or falsely believing that one possesses adequate car control skills without any formal training?

Agree...he is in a controlled environment and did pretty well before and after. Things happen at the tracks all the time. Too bad for him.

You only run out if one thing.
Tires or Talent.

Don't upset the car and it won't upset you.

Looking at that transition you shouldnt get anywhere near that tire even if previous skid marks suggest a 180 turn.
The rubber tells me probably at the last event, it was part of hairpin on a modified course and some staff stood behind those tires.

I think all the people calling the driver stupid, or "needs basic driving skills" are the true idiots.

The fact is the driver took this M3 (JUST INCASE YOU IDIOTS DON'T KNOW M STANDS FOR MOTORSPORTS) to a track (CONTROLLED ENVIRONMENT) wow WHAT LOGIC is that right!

Of course when your 16 years old and get your drivers license, the first thing you learn in driving school is drifting, advance car control, and advance clutch techniques, so HOW STUPID must the driver be for not being a PRO his first few times out on the track.

Every track day I've been to someone loses control, thats why you go to the track to push the limits and improve your skill.

He is out there having fun with a few of his friends/family, is it the track's fault he lost control of course not, but its the track's responsibility for making it as safe as possible.

Those tires being there are MORONIC PERIOD.

All that is needed is cones, cones don't break cars or hurt people, 1000 lb's tires do.
