Pricing of the New M3 around the world?

Could you share about the price of the New M3 with reference to E46 M3 in different places around the world?

I live in Hong Kong. Earlier this week, my dealer called me saying that the new M3 would cost some 70% more than E46 M3! Such price is some 20% away from a Posche Carerra S.

I have placed a deposit for some 2 years but I really have great hesitation now as I cannot convince myself about the big price gap between E92M3 and E46M3.

No doubt, the E46 M3 is still a fantastic car and will be a classic IMO.

You'll just have to go and see the E92 for yourself to determine if the price is justified.

70% more than the E46 M3? Not likely.

I placed a deposit in HK dealer too. And the new price is ridiculous. BMW HK claimed they want to position the new E92 M3 in a way only very rich people can buy. And the quota is limited anyway.

Honestly, I am thinking of withdrawing my deposit from the HK dealer. I get a feeling of being reaped off at such a price...

Your dealer is talking out of his ass. The M3 was never a poorman's car. Are you guys sure there isn't some new tax over there or something you're not aware of? 70% increase is really hard to believe.

I have a deposit on the E90 since August 06. On March 7th 2007 my dealer call me and said that the base will be MSRP $53,975 + destinations charge $721.

I wander how far was/is he from the final base MSRP!

I am waiting for the 4 doors version and now considering the 550I instead.

Hi..
in Italy 3 months ago the old e46 was quoted around 62.000 euro with 20 % of tax included. The new one I ordered is quoted at 67.900 (inc.tax).
This is an honest increase I think (around 10%).
About the 911s with the same options of the new m3,the final difference will be in Italy about 21.500 euro. The gap is here, +26%

bye

Probably because they already sold out all of their allotments. Now it's time to rape people.

It would be interesting to see what the precent increase model to model is for those countries as well. Maybe we can an average increase to come up with yet another estimate of US pricing.

However, I think the US is a different animal. I dont think the same rules will apply and is why I am not automatically assuming the E92 is going to carry as big of premium as it does in other countries. But I will guess we will see.

I don't think it is really that the US is a different animal it is simply that every country is its own animal and therefore unique. From the numbers I have crunched so far trying to do exactly this I agree that the above exercise would not be insightful. Some ratios show cost that seems reasonable, others totally unreasonable. Wait, wait, wait, fun, fun, fun.

i had one on order in HK as well... but once the dealer told us it will be 1.38m
we told them to forget it and put the deposit into our new X5, FYI, my E46 M3 was around 800k HKD when new

after getting EDC, M-Drive w/ Nav and M-DCT its gonna be same price as a M5

i'm jumping to a Carrera S next

No new tax, 335i E92 costs only hkd648,000. How can a M3 E92 cost 1,368,000 w/o EDC, w/o M-Drive, w/o DCT?

Is +211% price increase from 335i E92 to M3 E92 reasonable and valid in all other countries? Will it deliver 200% pleasure than it's little brother? It's just a "3-series" btw.

I moved to a 911S already, which deliver more driving pleasure, more prestige, and keep value better.
