That being said "the pinnacle of human engineering" is pretty extreme hyperbole. Are you aware of projects like the Large Hadron Collider, how about the International Space Station either have just a bit more engineering and science than a 1000 mph car...

How brilliant is that - to open source the whole thing and use it as an educational driver. In some countries the whole thing would have been 'monetised' and squirreled away behind closed doors.

Take it easy Swamp...I am aware of the LHC and also ITER (in case you weren't , but considering this is a car forum, thought my hyperbole relevant and was more a statement to juxtapose against our cars being faster from a dig to 100 :

I'm aware of ITER, during my graduate studies I focused in plasma physics...
