Pothole? Do you launch the car Dukes of Hazard style? That's the only thing I can think of that would mess up all 4 corners.

Lol, you must never have seen Dukes of Hazzard. In that context, "launch" means "launch into the air". Ever seen the Nicolas Cage version of "Gone in 60 Seconds"? Remember that scene with Eleanor on the bridge? Hence the comment about that being the only way he could see how all 4 corners could be so severely damaged.

If you haven't seen that scene:

now I understand what you mean, I've seen a clip of the dukes of hazzard jumps and yes, seen gone in 60 seconds and its jumping scenes. That one went right over my head haha

I'm gonna guess maybe one or two parts are bent on ur suspension prior to ur purchase. Another thing is that ur bushings may be all worn out and cussing a lot of sag. I would take the car to a reputable alignment shop. Those guys will be able to tell u if it is bushing related and or which part. Another option is to take the car to a body shop that has the right tools to measure ur suspension for damage. In Cali we have an alignment shop I use to use often for damage cars and they were able to bend parts to spec. I think ur dealership is full of it and or have poor mechanics that can't identify the one part causing all these issues. Btw I would gladly buy ur car for 10k less lol. That invoice is crazy. Good luck and keep us posted.

I'd get a second opinion from another shop. They probably just gave you that estimate to see if you were dumb enough to swipe your card.

This particular incident has nothing to do with warranties. Even if the car was still under warranty they wouldn't have covered that sort of damage.

A few years back had a similar thing with an X5 in the UK, minor wheel and "suspension" damage.. BMW dealer estimated for repair as the other guy's insurance was paying for it.. minor damage but they replaced everything they could think of.. also charged the other guy's insurance for 3 week's car hire. Ended up a huge bill for what was really a wheel replacement. I complained to the dealer, my insurance co, the other guy's insurance co, the insurance ombudsman (UK insurance regulator)... no one cared. I will never go back to that dealer, have bought various BMWs since.. not from them. Rip off merchants. This is why we all pay so much for insurance. Do I sound angry? Sorry. Get a second opionion from someone you trust, then you will be sure.

Thats a pretty good sign that the the front left wheel has taken a heavy hit.
Easily enough to bend the front left suspension and put the alignment out of whack. For the rest see another shop as advised.

This is what insurance is for. Even if does result in surcharge it will be cheaper than repair cost

last time I checked, a full set of PS2 tires at the dealer are $1800

True, but they can be had from Tire Rack without the dealer markup, and you can save even more by ordering the PSSes instead, which are superior in every way.

All that damage from a pothole? I remember a thread awhile back about a stolen M. Thieves ran from the police and slid the car up a curb at a high rate of speed. From what I remember only tires and wheels were replaced. When OP asked about the suspension tech answered " M's can handle it".

This is a prototypical insurance collection scheme. Whenever a repair organization gives you a high repair estimate (and won't give it to you itemized but in a general list format like this dealer has) and immediately suggests that you get your insurance to cover the bill (most times they'll even offer to work with your insurance, those are the worst...) they are just trying to maximum their profits.

With damage on all 4 ends as you have mentioned there is no way you would not have noticed this from the beginning.

Definitely get a couple more estimates and make sure they are itemized (and detail why the part must be changed).

I'd report that dealer to BMW NA, if for nothing other than the $850 iDrive Controller.

I have learned with these cars....

1. Never go off warranty.
2. Never go off warranty.

You have 4 choices:
1. Get it fixed by the stealership.
2. Tell them you want a complete list of the things that appear damaged. Take said list, inspect and purchase said parts and install yourself.
3. Search for honest mechanics in your local area to inspect and do for half the cost of BMW stealership.
4. Buy one of these for the same price as a couple of bent M3 LCAs LOL:

looks like insurance will cover the rear suspension, so I may as well get that fixed at the dealership, and then I will be taking it to autocouture to inspect the front suspension and get new tires.
