Clutch Change on E46 M3 SMG
Hey guys,
A mate of mine has just had his clutch changed on his M3. The gear change now while putting your foot down is great but when first gear engages from standstill, it really is quite harsh. Its also quite abrupt when coming to a standstill as the gearbox selects first and effectively lifts the clutch. Does the clutch need to bed in for a while? Or is there some manual/electronic adjustment that can be made? |

I believe he may need to reset the SMG tranny and the diff. I believe it is on page 126 of the manual. Go over 20MPH, move SMG to neutral, then hold both downshift and upshit paddles for 2+ seconds.

I believe that reset is for when u fit new tires. I think you might need the dealer to reset the SMG software and do a through programming and learning of the clutch.
