Nothing that isn't speculative. The family has basically cut off communication from the press and has said there will be no updates unless something of significance changes.

Sadly, "persistent vegetative state" is the current speculation.

In more upbeat Schumi news, a '98 Ferrari F300 just sold at a BJ auction for $1.7million

Yeah quite a lot of that type of speculation going around but it is mainly people not close the the family or his doctors. Still wait-and-see situation that could last months.

Basically, when ever there is a severe head injury such as this, the outlook is not good. I'm praying for the best, but not very optimistic.

This really sucks! He spent a major part of his life going 200mph on a race track and gets taken out in a skiing accident.

Anything that comes out now is 100% speculation. He could be fully awake and in rehab for all we know. I get the impression his family is not interested in giving play by play analysis to the world, even if it's really good news. I can't say I blame them.

My heart is heavy and goes out to Schumacher's family and fans !!

Heard he may be diagnosed with a Persistent Vegetative State as he is getting close to 4 weeks mark of coma!!

God I can't imagine having another tragedy like Ayerton Senna again -

This article is complete trash. There is no new diagnosis of Schumacher by this doctor, he is just speculating. He isn't even treating Schumacher.

And I am shocked you would post news from a newspaper whose journalistic reputation consists of dedicating page 3 to a half naked spy shots of minor celebrities! Seriously - you read this shit?

If you are a fan you do the guy a disservice by posting this trash.

Take it easy on me Stealth.pilot I had no clue what type of journal it was, I think it was just something I came across and I really feel bad for him and praying that he gets better soon.

My apologies if it were a bad source
And that is why out of respect for how you felt towards this article I did remove it from my post.

But it is not a good thing that he hasn't woken up yet after almost 4 weeks and I have my reasons why I can view this differently from other lay people, that's how much I could say.

But praying for him and don't judge me by the source so quickly that was harsh because you already made a decision that my intentions were bad when I really feel bad for him and his whole family in a way you may not imagine and not because he is who he is but above all because he is a human being and my heart is so heavy.

But you have the right to think or say whatever you want.

Ok I let you off but be careful of sources. Lot of opportunists who will print anything to gain page views. Vultures.

This one also helps you understand that recovery is possible though Schumacher's injury may be worse.

There may be mere speculation at this point, but prognosis based upon GCS, and other disease-state, symptomatic and patient-related markers are measurable. For example, after 3 months this is nearly always permanent. We can say that without speaking to his physician.

Thanks for the updates stealth.pilot. It's a hard read. I think it's pretty clear that Schumi is gone. I sort of hope that this doesn't turn into a decades-long vigil with no change. Big bummer.

Citing “very reliable sources”, L’Equipe newspaper said Schumacher has undergone a number of neurological tests since Monday and he has responded “positively”.
Careful with some of these stories. Just as before when it was reported that he will be in a persistent vegetative state, this one could be speculation. Who knows who the "very reliable source" is.

If this is true, though, it's indeed positive news.

It's true, it was also yesterday here in Belgium in the newspapers and confirmed by his manager .

Yeah, I know what you're saying but in this instance the reliable source is his manager. Or at least numerous reports attributed to her:

A statement released by Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm, said: "Michael's sedation is being reduced in order to allow the start of the waking-up process which may take a long time. For the protection of the family, it was originally agreed by the interested parties to communicate this information only once this process was consolidated."

Go Michael!

Yeah, I know the sedation being reduced part was confirmed. But that was the last substantiated report. The part about him blinking on command is attributed to other sources.

Still, fingers crossed it's true, because that's a very good sign.
