What is your favorite watch (owned and in general)?

My favorite watch from everything I own is the Ceramic Hulk Sub. Even though its in the mid range of my collection, it is the one I default to for everyday needs. It is not as plain as the others, since it is green, and it is brushed (non-polished), so I don't have to worry about being careful with it.

My favorite all-time watch is the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chrono in Panda dial. The details are incredible when seen in person. Pictures do not it justice. A lot of people like the ROO (Royal Oak Offshore), but something about the pushers on it feel cheap. I was so close to buying the ROC, but ended up getting the second best thing - the black face steel Daytona. AP ROC will be my next purchase, after the M4.

Here is the ROC Panda

I'm sure some watch snobs will look down their noses at it but the watch I covet the most is the Bvlgari Diagono Retrograde Moonphase (BVL347) in Rose Gold...

That's a pretty cool watch, but it will not hold value like other true watch companies, since it's made by a designer brand. A friend of mine had a Bulgari (granted, not a gold one) and he loved it. Then he tried to trade it in he was offered 20% of the original sticker price. So he gave it away as a present to a relative.

Favorite owned is this little guy which belonged to my grandfather. Nothing too fancy but I don't see many like it around with this bezel and of course it is very special to me. Favorite owned by design is my Speedmaster; that is the one which I wear daily.

Favorite which I don't own is hard to say but I want to buy one of these very soon. The dial comes in black or white and I can't decide which I like better.

My favorite watch is always the one I bought most recently. It may be "nicer" than others I have, it may not be, but it's the one that's my favorite until another new one comes along.

I buy on average two to six watches a year, so there's always something new around. For the first couple weeks after I get it, the new one is the one I wear most, but overall my Sub, Constellation, Series 2000 and Reverso Duo get the most wear.

I have one watch that I bought purely on brand reputation and a picture, and I wish I hadn't. That watch is the AP Royal Oak (simple). It's beautiful. It's an excellent watch. It's far dressier than I thought and the finish on it is fairly susceptible to scratching, at least more so than I would have liked given what my expectations were. If I could turn back time, I'd choose the PP Nautilus or Aquanaut and bought an AP Tradition or Millenary model instead.

I probably will at some point get one of the two PPs noted, but I won't buy either of the AP ones because the RO is one of the watches for which AP is known.

For overall looks, my favorite watch is the Black Belt watch: http://watches.infoniac.com/black-belt-watch.html. I just think it looks cool. The movement inside is just standard ETA, but nobody makes a similar looking watch and that's why I like it.

All the best.

Man, you know you are no longer on the VW GTI forums when there are multiple threads about expensive watches. I own a few Vestals and that's about it.

I'm a big fan of Breitling, and I've been wearing a Chronomat for about 10 years now... but I just picked up a Sinn 900 Flieger. It's German, but with a Swiss ETA movement (same as most of the Breitlings, IWCs, etc.). This is my favorite of all my watches; classic pilot look (similar to the IWC Pilots) but with a GMT hand, rotating inner bezel, hardened case, and lume that glows bright all night.

Saving up for a JLC MUT Moon 39 as my next piece.

Grail is probably Patek 5970g.

for me, watches are a symbol of a period of time or a special event or place in time, not just a measurement of time. All of my timepieces can be correlated to these attributes. Any while time moves on, the collection grows, but certainly not as quick as Tonys!
I let years go by between acquisitions, and then I use certain watches during some timeframes, such as my summer collection vs rest of year

My current watch is my fav of course, but I do have another in focus at the moment that I would alternate this with as I do need a GMT to keep track on my global teams.

Thats the first pix, a 1950 3day GMT Pam 320 along with a new green strap and another new leather strap just acquired. The best thing about these watches is that you can really change the look and feel just by changing the bands, so I have 4 bands and 4 different looks now

The second pix would be my ultimate watch, but aint happening unless I hit the lotto

My Sub is my first love (and part of the summer collection now along with another Pam) and I do like certain VCs, so perhaps Id acquire one at some point

I only have two nice watches and of the two my favorite by a long shot is my Rolex 116520 black dial. It's the modern inhouse steel daytona with black dial. It's so versatile and classic that it never leaves my wrist. I like the Daytona so much that I want the Zenith 16520 white dial Daytona as a second.

Of course I also love watches such as the newer 41mm AP ROC RG with leather band or variants of the PP Nautilus with the annual calendar, but these watches are far more expensive than most other nice watches so I won't count them as anything other than nice timepieces.

I've developed quite an appreciation for both modern and vintage rolexes and have recently been playing with the idea of picking up the blue/black GMTII or a mid 90's to 97 Pepsi dial GMTII.

I love the look and feel of a PAM on the wrist. Not many people even know what it is when they see it, yet I always get compliments. Its not a "Me Too" watch. Seen far less than Rolex and Tag!

But what about the Milgauss? Your watches can't handle the gauss.

Props to the IWC Pilot posted above. I'm grabbing one of those (or a Mark XIV) next.

I hate your millions of gausses. ugh.

also, wrong. you're not getting an IWC next. I won't allow it. BORING.

I thought I wanted the IWC BP. And then I realized I don't want a wall clock/scale sitting on my wrist, slamming into people the next street over.
