agreed, threatening people won't get you anywhere unless you have the right people on your side.

OP- I know a few friends who own an M5-Ultimate Intimidation Machine- if you're interested, PM me.

No where in there do I say im going to go in there and bully them like this was high school. This is not what I meant at all. What I meant is that they seem to treat people differently <- bodybuild & age where examples that I used as to why they treat someone differently.

No you didn't say anything about bodily harm but why would they take you more serious if you were bigger then? Anybody can be dangerous, little guys included.

It's unfortunate really, I was always under the assumption that having the car serviced at the dealer would be more beneficial.

Take a picture of your dash on your phone and tell the as that you did. I would also hardwire a dash cam behind the mirror. This is a good one http://www.blackvue.ca/DR500GW-HD.html . Also a 20$ tip goes along way even if you didn't get VIP treatment he'll remember the second time. Just saying but the camera is the best insurance. Hardwire a phone also get a cheap data plan and it's better than LoJack.

Put a motion activated recorder/hidden camera in the car next time you take it to the dealer, once you get a sound or video recording that's your hard evidence right there.

As far as I can tell the only thing that the dealer did was reset a trip computer. I'm not sure that it is rant worthy. Any other evidence that something was done to your car?

Forgot to mention in my original post:

EDIT: Forgot to mention. I know my car, and I know when the gas indicator stops going doing after I fill it up to the max. Typically after about 45-50 normal driven miles I start to see it drop maybe like an 1/8th of a tank. When I get the car back, its a little over 3/4 full (when I gave it to them, the indicator seemed fine at the full position). I mean come on, for the ones that say they dont see anything wrong here.

They do have to run the car to check the oil level. Not 1/4 of a tank worth but....

im 23 (own my home as well, single though) and if anything i get treated with respect because of my M3... i think its more about how you present yourself and your attitude.

the sad truth is that people automatically form generalizations about someone from size and physical appearance, then in 7 seconds after speaking with someone they already have an impression of you... which carries over to how they treat you.

i wouldn't say anything this time as long as there is no damage or harm, but definitely take note as other members have said for next time

+1 talk to the sales manager. I've owned BMW's since I was 19. I went through the same thing. I hated that I was old enough to afford an m3, but not old enough for a loaner. I think they changed that but it was really annoying.

I don't understand what the issue is.

What was the mileage in and out? Seriously it is right there on the paperwork from the dealer. Why are you going through all this conjecture about fuel levels? Just look at the mileage.

What sound does the car make after being driven hard? I have no idea what you're talking about.

Oil change requires a drive afterwards to make sure level is OK. Five miles or so is expected. If there's 50 miles shown on the paperwork then go complain.

At the 1200 mile service after my ED the dealer I picked it up from said they didn't drive it because they were scared to mess it up. So thirty miles from the dealership (service department closed on a Saturday afternoon) I get a warning and a +1qt with a 300 mile drive ahead of me. I would greatly have preferred they had taken the car out for a spin.

Well, according to your story, you knew about the unsavory activities going on at the dealership.... So why would you take your car there still.

But overall I know what you mean, I'm paranoid about other people working on my car.

Unfortunately we live in an ageist society. BMW dealerships (All dealers really) are notoriously bad for treating people differently based on their age and how they are dressed.

When I went to buy my first bmw when I was 25 (99 Z3 Coupe) it took me 3 tries to find a dealership that treated me like a potential customer.

I would agree with other posters to see another dealer or if you really want to nail these guys install a GPS tracker to measure the speed and distance of the implied joyrides then take them to court.

Tell the dealer to go screw themselves and find another after reporting a complaint to bmw na. I'm a bit younger than you op and I get treated like anybody else that goes to my dealer. Never had a complaint, no issues getting loaners or test drives. I really wouldn't except anything less then the service I receive. Maybe it's because all my family that goes there reminds them of an organized crime family but that's besides the point.

Lighten up Francis. If you're that concerned about it, note the odometer before you take it in. Also a $70 dash cam might make you feel better. Mine works great, it's right there where they can see it, so it's a good deterrent. As far as gas useage, you would be surprised how much gas it will use idling for 20 minutes. In order to get an oil level reading, the engine must be up to temp and run for awhile. Starting cold, that can take awhile. And it's not like they stand there staring at it, waiting for a reading to pop up. They go do other stuff. It's not unusual for a car in a dealer garage to be idling for half an hour or more after an oil change. I'm not saying nothing bad happened, maybe it did. You just don't know. Basing it on your perception that you get no respect because of your age, blah, blah, blah. Get over it. Sounds like you will spend your life finding reasons you are being disrespected. Good luck with all that.

I have the same fears, but I always tell them oil change only, no test drive, if it isn't necessary, no wash, etc. Always comes out without added miles.

Sorry to hear it happened to you, and I would try and find another dealer period. Don't waste your time complaining because they might even mess with your car even more next time...."here's the kid who whined to my boss, I'm really going to put the screws to this car!!! yea...."

I strongly suggest to install a dashcam.
Blackvue is selling a set of front and rear dashcam. Even if they disconnect the front one there is no chance to disconnect the rear one. If they joyride your car yiu take the video and send it to your local tv channel with the name of the dealer lol
