As sexy as the e9x body style is i dont care much that its over. That engine though... I wish they would just keep that engine in production for special order purposes. Is it so much to ask for an f32 with an s65?

Ok, just want to confirm what Jason posted.

There will be no 2014MY, so the first deliveries to North America in June will be 2015s??

A farewell ol friend........indeed the E9x M3's will go down in history as a unique flavor of M3's.

Indeed.

I got mine in 2008 and drove it like CRAZY up and down the California coast. LOVE LOVE LOVE that car! Hands down the best engine I've ever had the pleasure of owning / driving on a daily basis. It's a shame times are changing, but I guess we have to change with them.

The new M4 has some massive shoes to fill.
Definitely has some big shoes to fill!

Probably until 2020, when you buy the last year of the F8X, and call it "legendary."
:

Actually, it's not gonna happen.

I just don't know if a high revving NA engine is this much loved by enthusiasts, why not keep it and advance on it, why change the whole thing to turbo in line engine? Many cars will still have NA engines, I just don't understand why BMW is not doing that.

we will miss you!

we still have a white one left on the lot though, not sure that will last long. I was looking at it yesterday and what a great car. but like all good things, they have to come to end. Now lets get ready for the next gens, bring them on!

Indeed. Our E9X M3 where the 1st V8 and last All Motor. :-(
It wasn't the first V8 nor first V8 M (unless you mean m3s). Sure is the last NA though.

You were better off just not taking delivery of the vehicle if you were thinking about it. Until you drive off the lot, their buyers order contract is not binding. Since you would have received no consideration for the contract (legal term) and the contract would have not been enforceable.

First car I looked at for my car purchase was a 08' M3. I fell in love with it right away and most especially when I turned on the engine - that sound was simply mind-blowing! Too bad I didn't get to test drive it at least (seller was a small player dealer) but that car was a true beauty. IMO this car is timeless.

As he said, there will be no MY2014 M3 coupe and convertible.

There may very well be an MY2014 M3 sedan and MY2014 M4 coupe. It is not confirmed yet, as far as I know, whether the debut MY for the F80/F82 will be called MY2014 or MY2015 when they hit the streets in the first half of next year. We should know that information soon; either at the debut in January at NAIAS or perhaps prior as official information about the imminent debuts comes forth.

I had this car, a 2011 E93 M3...

...which I traded for this 2012 335is - because the convertible just didn't make sense as an M3.

I traded the 335is for the below M3 because I didn't like the throttle response on its bi-turbo I-6 motor even after Dinaning it up a bit (a harbinger of things to come in the M4).

To me a 4,000+ lb M3 is an automotive non sequitur - lighter is better. I had a AW 2009 E93 335i which, in retrospect, is a better idea for a convertible.

Subsequently, I don't mourn the demise of the M3 convertible - if I were to buy another Bimmer convertible, it would probably be a 4 Series. I'd keep the V-8 M3 of course, that car will probably be in my will.

Owned the following M3
E36
E46
E92

Will not own the turbocharged generation M3 ever

BMW went for mass public. There are M badged cars everywhere now, all series all kinds, not saying it's bad but for me the M era is over

End of productions reminded me of the time when i was looking at the spy pics of E9X m3, so its also exciting time.

I am not planning on getting a new m3, just like some of you guys here i have owned all 4 generations of m3s and this is my last one.
