It sounds like not all the files from USB3 made it unto the drive originally. Wipe everything from the drive and recopy the contents of USB3 from your hard drive to the USB stick and try again.

I just ordered the UBS stick with the 2014 North America maps from tischer. I did not like how long it was taking to download these files and there is no guarantee the download does not get corrupt at some point. Once I get the USB I will order the FSC code here.

If anyone locally in SoCal 909 area want to chip in on the USB stick just purchase your FSC code here and we can meet up once I get the media and load it in your vehicles. This may save many of you headache.

Quick question. For the CCC 2014 professional - I downloaded the torrents for region 1. There are 3 parts. Do I need to unzip each of these and burn each to the DVD or just the first one (part 1)?

You only need to extract the part01.rar for the region you want to burn. It'll auto-extract part02.rar and part03.rar.

So with that said, are we looking at about 4 gig of data burned to a disk?

Yeah, that's about right. ~4gb of data per region. A single single-layer DVD per region.

Yes, but you need an ICOM and either WinKFP or ISTA/P to reflash the CIC firmware.

Unless you know a local coder with the proper equipment or want to get into doing this yourself, it's cheaper to pay the dealership to update the car.

You can also use the 3 DL-DVD method to update 2009 model vehicles as well.

Okay so I got the code very promptly, thanks Dracon!

I ended up and purchsed the USB stick from BMW and everything seemed to work fine however everytime I start up the vehicle and press navagation then options I get an error as seen below. It does this everytime I start the vehicle.

Also after the update was complete the system rebooted and if the USB was still plugged in the navagation says the system is not current and to update it even though I already updated it.

Seems like everything is working just the error and why it says it is not the latest version when it was just updated.

Anyone else experiencing this?

You need to clear your navigation history and it'll stop doing that. Sometimes after clearing the navigation history you'll need to navigate to some random place to clear it.

It's common for that to occur after an update of the maps.

Yeah, it's outlined in your owners manual on how to do it.

I think the error message is gone. Appears to be working well. Should be since I loaded it from the original BMW USB stick.

Thanks for the great service Dracon!

So, somewhat off topic... I bought the 2013 dvd from my dealer in August and am completely annoyed that when the navigation includes a highway route, every 2 or 3 exits I'm told to "bear left" (basically, don't exit here). When you're on the highway for 30+ miles, it makes me want to punch "Martha" in the head.

Before this I had a 2009 dvd that just told me to get on the highway and then alerted me a mile ahead of needing to exit. Checking to see if this is still an issue with the 2014 dvd?
