Red face Getting codes read in Perth?

Hey guys, just picked up a high KM 2006 M3, it's missing about 50k km of service and sat around for months.

It's been cleaned up and the body work/paint and interior are fantastic.

Yellow engine light is on the dash, it's low on fuel but oil is okay didn't get a chance to check anything else.

Other issues include bucking/jerkiness on acceleration again haven't had a chance to play with it not sure if SMG but there are no other error lights on the dash.

Where should I take it?

Ps picked it up way cheap have the funds to make it work again I just couldn't pass it up some needs to show it some love.

Thanks in advance!

Hey, not sure about where to go in Perth, but it could be anything. I would go to an independent indy shop rather than dealership. It could be a air sensor, O2 probe, fuel pump, etc. Must have been cheap to take a punt on a potential lemon did you check the national registry?

Try RAMP in Malaga, they know their BMWs and won't rip you off.

Yeah, they are pretty busy most of the time. Good thing to hear it's running better. I stopped using Ultimate 98 and gone with United P100 instead. Much smoother and more cost effective (not to mention the extra octane) in the long run if you pump on Thursdays. =P

Good luck with it!

Hard to know, not sure if it was the first or second gear problem very vague symptoms.

RAMP have had the car since 11am friday, haven't heard from them so I assume things are progressing.

I'll call Monday see what's going on.

Thanks for the help again guys!

Just an update for everyone,

Car has been running 100% since repair.

The original issue was 1 x bad ignition coil and 6 x new sparkplugs.

Since then, new engine mounts, drive belts, guibo/flex disk/various other little things.

touch wood, everything has been very smooth! She detailed up nicely

Will hit 200,000 km within the month only driving weekends cos of work.

I LOVE IT, was a gamble but here we are!

G'stuff!

I just changed my plugs too last week and the car feels like it's on Red Bull! Amazing what new plugs can do!

Good to hear that you are on the right track. Body work of the car looks decent.

Who would have thought that a m3 could have accumulated almost 200k in kilometres.
My average is about 12k per year and I live far north of the river and daily drive into work to the city.

The previous owner sure liked to drive it! It was maintained by autoclassic so it seems they did a good job, it was just the past few months where he slipped up in regards to maintenance.

I'll be sure to jump onto a 100k km E92 M3 soon enough, I'll keep the E46 for life see how long it goes.
