Yeah it was. I'm going post up my fast lap video later on tonight. I was also going to post the other video of what happens when you turn the nannies semi off on a GT3 but when I was deleting videos to make room I deleted the main video which had the lap so now I can't view it.

That's ok, just post a pic of the inside of the car instead...

Bump. Just a quick reminder before the weekend that early registration ends on November 15th, next Friday. After that prices go up to $449 for members (regardless of class) and $499 for non members.

I'm assuming those prices are for 2-days. What if you just want to do 1 day?

It makes for an accounting nightmare.

I'm going to go into my spiel about how 2 days are much better than 1 in terms of learning. Especially for new tracks. Typically, the biggest "leap" in learning a new track happens when you have the opportunity to "wipe" everything you learned about said track on the 2nd day. Back to back days at an event gives you the maximum reinforcement of muscle and mental memory of the track, by allowing you to "reset" overnight. Typically, for our participants, the second to last session on Sunday is usually the FASTEST session of the weekend because you're able to rebuilt on top of the fundamentals you learn on a Saturday. Two day events also give you the opportunity to experience lines taught by different instructors.

For accounting and logistical reasons it's a nightmare to split days. In the past when we have allowed for 1 day sign-ups at ACS due to exorbitant price of track rental, we typically end up with an uneven roster, and we either have instructor working their sses off on Saturday, or several with 1 or no students on Sunday. I have had a few students inquire about the possibility of signing up an doing 1 day only, and I have strongly discouraged them from doing so.

Having said all that. If the 1-day option is the difference between signing up and going home, I would rather see participants going to the track. So the option I give to you is: If it's pricing that you're concerned with, we will not be offering a "cheaper" 1 day option. If you simply can't make a 2 day weekend due to work or other obligations, we will consider it on a case by case basis. You can sign up at the full price, drive the one day you can make it, and we will issue a moderate credit towards a future event.

Hope that explains it.

Just registered online for the 2-day event. Looking forward to getting back to the track after a 6 year break.

So who's going? Last 2 days before the price goes up.

I'm registered to instruct. Hope to see a bunch of you there. Don't know if I'll bring the red M3 6-speed or the red M3 6-speed (E46M3).

Question, can I make a request for a specific instructor? I have the name of the instructor (someone familiar with 997 GT3s).

You can always request a specific instructor…you may not get that instructor though.

I'd PM the Hack and see if he can hook you up. All the assignments are made by the tent leaders, and you'll only get that instructor for one day (you swap instructors for the 2nd day).

We have lots of instructors who've driven VW's before. You shouldn't have any problems there.

As long as some of them have driven the roided VW bugs, then it's all good. I did upgrade to an RS so I need to email someone to let them know I'm coming with a different car.

What is CCA's rules/policy on instruction? Are people like me, who've never run with CCA before, *required* to have instruction?

Yeah, but if you prove yourself they will sign you off to go solo without an instructor.
