Winter Tire Question for 219M

Hey guys,

I have a question on tire fitment for my winter set-up. I posted this in the sticky, but I think people often overlook the sticky section. Here's my situation:

I have 4 blizzak lm-60's in 225/40r18 from my old 335i that are basically brand new. I know I can't fit these on my rear wheels (OEM 18's 9.5" wide); however with my 335i, I fit these 225/40's on my 8.5" rear with no problem.

Can I use the two 225/40's up front on my 8.5" wide wheels and maybe get a pair of tires better suited for the wider rears? Or will there be too much stretch on the fronts, causing too great a difference in front/rear diameters?

If this would be unsuitable, I'm open to offers for these tires thanks guys!

Best,

Jon

You'll be fine in front. Rears is way to much of a stretch. I ordered ws70 235 front and 245 rear for some 219ms and I'm waiting to see the stretch on the rear lol

^^^I run 245/40 on the rears (219s) and it's stretched but manageable. Helps cosmetically if you have a dark colored car. I don't worry about it much since performance has been great - five winters so far with this setup and no issues.

Thanks guys! I have offers for the tires now so if they sell I'll pick up some new winters. But I do appreciate your input.

Signes, what size are you running on the fronts then?

Once cold weather arrives, I'll run the OEM winter setup... Michelin Pilot Alpin winter tires (235/40/18) on 270M wheels. Pretty sweet!
