It will sound deeper at low rpm's and will have a very nice growl when change gears, and when i downshift in my case with DCT and let the gas pedall lose(up) i have the dowshift blips, and this blips have now a kind of sporty roar sound...very exotic man !
The only thing i regret is....when i knew this and the result of this Oem exhaust mod.,i regret that i have not done this in the first day that i bought the car
Hope that this explanation clears out your question
And for further questions members feel free to PM me,i know all the details of this because i did this by myself, i helpd out now maybe 8-10 members and all are very happy

I agree, last night at a local meet I turned on the car for it to warm up and it was growling ever so beautifully. Have had the mod on now for a few thousand km's and it sounds amazing.

there is slight droneing when the engine is above 3000 rpm. So just keep a steady speed a hair below 120 Km/h, then it would be fine.

above 3000 RPM there is noticeable drone.

Can someone suggest where to get it blacked out like BCScout here in the GTA? Is that paint?

I'm guessing ordering tips fm EAS is the best place for Canadians as well.

Also what is the difference between perforated and the normal method. Which one is likely to have less drone?

What do you refer as the normal method? The perforated replacement pipe IS the normal method afaik. You can do the middle chamber bypass and that is way louder and dronenier ).

I painted my myself with header paint and ordered the tips from EAS. Thats how it looks:

Not sure. All I see is there are 2 ways of doing this and want to know which creates more drone.
Btw you setup with the tips look amazing.

Looks good to me,but i kept the Oem. tips, because i just love the look of the double walled chroom Oem.tips , and i know the diameter is a bit small .
Now... still happy with the sound of it ?
And is it sounding like i had told you ?

Belgium.

Do you have test pipes with your OEM exhaust mod? Im about to order test pipes and have read several posts from people saying it doesn't sound good. They never say why it doesn't sound good, just that it doesn't sound good.

Ive only seen one video of the normal OEM exhaust mod(middle perforated pipes replaced) + test pipes and it sounded great to me.

Actualy there are 3 ways...
1- The 2 big perforated pipes replaced by 2 full stainless steel pipes
2- The 4..this means the 2 big and 2 small pipes replaced by full pipes, this mod. cause sometimes backfire(small bang sound) in exhaust muffler special in high rpm's with downshifts .
3-The bypass (ACM-method) straight through method (muffler bypass)
This method creates drone and it's the loudest method.
For me personal this mod.(bypass) sounds almost like a broken exhaust.
But i know too....sound is very personal, and when you want no drone... the 2 big perforated method is the way to go,and sounds for me personal just perfect !
BTW...all pipes inside the ///M3 muffler have diameter 63.5 mm or >>> 2.5 Inch !
For further questions of the Oem. exhaust mod. feel free to shoot me PM

I would love to have test pipes....but damn man,you know this f@cking country and the yearly car inspection, i would not pass....
1- emission test.... will not pass ! (because front cats are removed)
2- they look under the car ...will not pass !
And i know i can swap...but i need also swap back to test pipe,so actualy it is every time... 2 times + my BPM tune flash it back to E240 and after inspection back to BPM Stage II !
So i think it's 3 day's of work to pass the car inspection....no way man...i'm going to work too you know !
Also each time removing 2 times the clamps man...i don't wont exhaust leaks .
Ok now.. about the Oem. exhaust mod. & test pipes...i'm 100 % sure it will sound raspy with test pipes, but some people love this...so again..sound is personal taste !
But i know one thing......that Megan exhaust in combination with MS test pipes sounds...WOW !!!
This is for me till today the best exhaust sound i ever heard on a ///M3 !
Hope this will help....and put your head phone on !
