What did you expect from an M3 forum??? Of coarse you should get a well equipped used or base new M3!

The S5 will feel extremely heavy (and underpowered, in my opinion, without mods). The 335i is a wonderful car (as is the 335is, which I used to have back in the day), but agreed on the overall setup and feel of the car. It's just not as precise and confidence inspiring as the M3.

I've been to Boston a couple of times, and the roads and parking are AWFUL IMHO

you'd certainly enjoy the upgrade, but I'm not sure if it's worth the extra hassle in your situation... I guess if you're coming from NYC it might be an improvement in some ways

Order a stripper M3/M4 of your choosing if you can hang in there...

Otherwise find a CPO/NON-CPO, either way, and buy the gold warranty. Best bet is to wait until your warranty is about to expire to buy the extended. You're able to buy the extended warranty all the way up until the day your factory warranty expires. Probably able to buy it afterwards as well?

winter in Boston

I have the M3 for half the year and the S5 for the winter. The S5 is the best winter drive ever--will go through deep snow, ice, sleet, anything and be eye catching while it's doing it. If you can't do both cars, the S5 is the way to go....the winter could be bad on the east coast this year according to the farmer's almanac.......(ps--no contest about pleasure driving these cars, the e92 M3 is the best car ever made)

The S5.
A couple hundred dollars will make it faster than the M3 in straight line and it comes with a spare tire!
The interior is nice and the electronics superior.
Ask me any construction and renovation questions you might have! NYC
