The article noted drivers of blue BMW's... Since I drive a gray BMW, does that mean I'm not a jerk?

But see, when I was going through BMW Configurator, it asked me:

Male? "Yes"

Drive Aggressively? "Yes"

Swear a lot? "Fu(k yes!"

You must chose from:
Atlantis Blue
Atlantic Blue
Imperial Blue
LeMans Metallic Blue (reserved for most prolific curse-word users). "ME!"

When one wants a cabriolet, is there really any other choice than an M3? No. No, there's not.

I'd be interested to see the breakdown between M owners vs other BMWs. I feel like less of a jerk having stepped up to an M3 even going out of my way to be nicer on the road.

This is ridiculous.

Most BMW drivers I know are so anal about their cars they wouldn't think of driving recklessly LOL

I find the average Audi driver obnoxious on the road.

Hey guys, please stop driving like a**holes

http://wheels.blogs.nytimes.com/2013...gests/?hp&_r=0

The study also found that male drivers were less likely to stop for pedestrians than were women, and that drivers of both sexes were more likely to stop for a female pedestrian than a male one.

One of the most significant trends was that fancy cars were less likely to stop, said Mr. Piff, adding, BMW drivers were the worst.

I was asked once if I knew the difference between a BMW and a porcupine, after admitting not knowing the ol' fella replied "The difference between a BMW and a porcupine is that on the BMW the pricks are on the inside..." I guess that sums it up!

Because of the stereotype, I do try to be extra polite in traffic to counteract it some.

On the highway... well... I do like to drive at a good clip.

And on rural backroads, I mean, those no passing signs are for pickup trucks, right? Not 400+ hp super-sedans, surely!

The comments for that article are interesting.

But I think the study is flawed.
1. Small population (125 "drivers") in one crosswalk, in SF.
2. How do they know the person driving the car is rich or poor just by looking or by the car they drive. I know several friends who are rich who drive non-luxury cars, and at the same time, I know some people who barely make enough to cover their lease driving BMWs.
3. What about other correlations. Age? Driving experience? Etc etc.

Hah, those Jalopnik comments are priceless. Especially enjoyed this video, which represents every Prius owner ever, whether they admit it or not:

I think if that woman were making a scene like that in front of my wife and kids I'd ask her if she really had to eat so much -- because clearly her fat disgusting ass doesn't need the food as much as the starving children in Somalia or wherever -- As for the answer to her 'do you really need to park here?' question? Because FYTW

Flawed results man. However, I do notice on the road that luxury car drivers are always the most reckless.

At the end of the day, I drive a BMW M3, and the real road ragers don't.

Think I'm an asshole because I wanted to get in the lane you're in and got in front of you? Well fuck you.
Think I'm an asshole for driving slightly faster than you? Well then fuck you.

I'm driving safer than most people on the road, and I'm an asshole? To try to make sure I don't look like an asshole to the driver of the car I'm about to get in front of when switching lanes, I'll keep my blinker on longer than usual to see if they'll give me room. That's as far as I'll go to try to look like a "good" driver. If you still think I'm an asshole, well fuck you then.

NY Times. UC Berkeley.... you would think this guy is more legit, but what a joke of a "research". And to do it in SF??? SF, LA, NYC are like the worst cities to do driver tests. People in general can't drive regardless of what car they drive... they just happen to have more money (or front like they do) in these 3 major cities.

worthless article.
